Note: These correlations are unconvincing to state that geomagnetic activity causes earthquakes, but clearly the mechanism of action for how pressure release may be triggered is understood. Heating and magnetic affects on rocks, metals, oceans, and water vapor can effect massive and abrupt changes on our tectonic plates. If the magnetic ribbon has put new particle bombardment on the inner system, the amount of pressure capable of release is theoretically much higher as well. It may be best to test this correlation in conjunction with other theories, for example: Youtuber dcsymbols has made astounding correlations with planetary alignments - how did he do it where others have failed? As he put it, "why do you ignore our closest neighbor?" -- the moon. Combining orbital positioning with geomagnetic activity could be the next step in this journey!

NASA Heliophysics

The "ATREX" or Anomalous Transport Rocket Experiment Mission will use five sounding rockets to
study the ultra high altitude region 62 to 68 miles up that experiences winds up to 200-300 mph. As each rocket rises above 50 miles it will release a chemical tracer into the upper atmosphere dispersed over a horizontal range that extends approx. 340 miles east/s.east of Wallop's Flight Facility. The chemical tracer is trimethylaluminum which glows when it reacts with oxygen. The products of this reaction are aluminum oxide, carbon dioxide and water vapor.
