Frankly I think the guy had little to gain. If he believed what he said, he would understand the protection and handling that goes with respectful opinions about WWII Germans. Going into a packed room full of French Jews and expecting any of them to possibly let him be controversial was an absurd calculation. If he did it just to provoke people then he succeeded. If he did it sincerely then I applaud his free speech but question his strategic thinking.

No they don't. They may talk about it in their own country. As an ethnic Ukrainian, I know about it, but don't talk about it because it is in the past, the people involved are dead, and most people don't even know it even happened. That's why I do not watch "holocaust movies". When they make a movie showing the holomodor, I might start watching them again.

Reading is for nerds, right book? Pictures are way cooler and easier!

Besides, I don't actively study hebrew much anymore. If you want to read the old testament, you have to be able to read hebrew. Believe me, the hebrew original is MUCH more interesting and complete than the english KJV. Now in my language studies I am focusing on perfecting/maintaining fluency in french, while learning the basics of sanskrit and the devanagari script (to read the Vedas, etc in the original). Every now and then I crack open one of my books on olde englisc to trace the development of my own native tongue. I also need to brush up on my latin and koiné. Hebrew is just one of several languages in which I have at least a slight interest.
