Wally world used to be my main source... I don't buy ammo much anymore so the price issue is something I don't know much about.

We have Tru Value here, but I don't think they sell ammo.

Not that it matters... CA may not be a gun friendly state, but if you want ammunition, it is readily available.

If someone is paying over a dollar per round of .223 they are getting ripped off.

Ammoman has Federal for half that price.

You guys shouldn't be supporting shitty big box stores with your ammo purchases anyways. Buy from a local gun shop or mail order.

I used to buy at Wal-mart when I first started into guns, but no more. My local dealer is actually cheaper, for one thing, and it's a locally owned business for another.

I've checked prices at Walmart, Cabelas and Scheels on guns and ammo then I go to the local gun dealer and tell him what I've found. They are always willing to sell for less than the others and I buy from them. I agree with Awoke on this we need to keep our local independant gun dealers in bussiness.

Awoke, Yeah man, I agree. I have no desire to to help chinamarts bottom line lol. I couldnt buy ammo there anyway as their supply could easily fit into a case about the size of a bait cooler.

There is a local place about 25 mins away that I prefer to deal with. HUGE selection, competitive pricing, and knowledgeable staff. 3 floors of heaven for anything outdoor related. on par with a Bass P.S, or Cabelas...But local.
