America goes wild for Nike trainers as fights break out across the country.

Police in several cities across the USA were called to stores to manage unruly shoppers seeking Nike's new Air Jordan athletic shoes.
In cities from North Carolina to Washington state, crowds pushed, fought or rushed the doors to buy the black-and-white Air Jordan 11 Retro Concords, which went on sale on Friday.

In a Seattle suburb police had to use pepper spray to break up fights in a crowd of up to 2,000 people at the Westfield South Center mall.

Two entry doors were broken and 25 police officers were needed to subdue the crowd enough.

One man punched a police officer. "He did not get his shoes," said police spokesman Mike Murphy. "Instead he went to jail."

In Indianapolis, incidents were reported at three different malls around the city, while one person was arrested in North Carolina.

In Toledo, Ohio, two stores offered a limited supply to go on sale at 5am, and by 4.30am some started fighting for position in line.

Nike issued a statement saying the Oregon-based company was "extremely concerned" to hear of reported crowd incidents at some locations.

"We encourage anyone wishing to purchase our product to do so in a respectful and safe manner," the statement said.

A pair of the shoes sells for $180 (£115), according to the Nike website, but they were already being advertised on EBay with asking bids of as much as $605 (£388).

Some scenes were more controlled. The Sports Seasons store in Nashville, Tennessee, received 20 pairs to sell, and allowed one customer into the store at a time, manager Marquis Porter said. After a customer bought shoes, an armed guard walked the buyer back to his or her car.

More weebee's fighting over nothing.

That phrase coined by my southern firend who said that certain people of a certain ethnicity talk like that down there.

We be going to the crib
We be doing this or (that)

Weebees Well it's more politically correct than calling them niggers.

The Commie Nooz Nyetwork reported "one" incident of cops using pepper spray, however the local teevee nooz here reported local cops using pepper spray on the homeboys looking to get their new kicks - so obviously there was more than "one" incident (since that Channel 5 above isn't one of our local stations). I suppose they said "one" instead of "several", "many" or "numerous" to shape the perception that if it occurred in your locale then that was the "one" incident. lol

London man depicted as Tyreek Amir Jacobs speaks: "I'm actually alive" (http://www.baltimoresun.com/news/maryland/crime/blog/bal-london-man-depicted-as-tyreek-amir-jacobs-speaks-im-actually-alive-20111224,0,3419105.story)
baltimoresun.com December 24, 2011

A 22-year-old London man who says his photo from a stock image catalog was used in a hoax about a killing for Air Jordans wants Americans to know: "I'm actually alive."

As shoppers around the country clashed over the sneakers, reports circulated social media and blogs that an 18-year-old Washington DC teenager named Tyreek Amir Jacobs had been killed in one of the melees. In fact, police reported no such killings, and the image of "Jacobs" was from a stock catalog.

...Boahen said the photo was taken five years ago without his permission by a teacher. He remembers the photos being taken - but didn't know they would eventually be sold and made available as stock images.

...Boahen wants the photos taken out of the stock image collections, where it's been used at least one other time on the NAACP's Legal Defense Fund blog. "It's a false representation," he said. "Maybe there's a person out there that [actually] died. No one should be killed over sneakers. But his picture should be up there, not mine."
