You know my stance, substance regulation is the simplest form of mental control. Not to mention, if it was legal, it would eliminate every drug dealer overnight. It would eliminate "thug life" because to survive they would need to get a job instead of selling. And finally, it would guarantee purity (through market competition and oversight) and there would be far fewer health problems than we see today.

NE, even tho it's not legal yet doesn't mean that it's some rare plant or anything.
I mean anybody that wants its, pretty much has it or gets it from someone so I don't see how there'd be far fewer health problems.
There's a couple of hundred thousand other plants to use to get well if they can't get a hold of cannabis.
Why is everyone so desperate to get it, to use it, why is there so many high hopes in it ?

We'd learn all that and more...if marijuana were mandatory. Lol

Self medication for the most part whether the user knows it or not thats usually what they are doing. Going for the blotto effect is a type of self medication. A lot of people use alcohol to that end as a lot of people do with MJ.

Blotto?
Alcohol, yes... MJ - not so much.

Encyclopedia (http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/) > Blotto
This article or section should be merged with intoxication (http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Intoxication) Drunkenness, in its most common usage, is the state of being intoxicated with alcohol (i.e. ethanol (http://www.nationmaster.com/encyclopedia/Ethanol)) to a sufficient degree to impair mental and motor functioning.

My understanding of the term "blotto" as it is commonly used is the state of drunkenness just short of "blind".
Not gonna happen w/ MJ.

I see Alcohol as the liquid form of MJ that makes people sick, and violent.
Then there's all the industrial uses, and it grows like crazy. What a cash crop just from manufacturing alone.
Better quality clothes, better paper and no cutting of trees. Those two alone make it worth it.
Weed makes people stupid? Ever see how dumb alcoholics get? It's worse.
Indicas are sedative, but sativa blends are energetic and make people active, and creative.
Imagine the strain development if it were legal. Genetics would be off the charts.

You're right, there are many other plants worth consideration, in my post I am referring to all banned substances and not merely cannabis.
That being said I still think that illegality causes impurities. Most of the time when you read about someone dying from cocaine or heroin, it's because those drugs are cut with 95% filler, nasty nasty synthetic chemicals usually. I'd like to see this changed and I don't use either of them. I think society has proven that we cannot stop them from using, at the very least give them something pure so they use less of it and the negative effects are easier to recover from.
FYI it's pretty common for dealers to cut some hard drugs with bleach, detergent, glass, anything. I shudder to think what this does to the body of the user, I do not want to encourage use of heroin but I am extremely uncomfortable with the current situation, if that makes any sense.

Because humans have Cannabinoid Receptors (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cannabinoid_receptor) in their brains. This plant was made by the Creator for his creation!
This plant stands alone in its many uses for humans, there is no other plant that compares to its value.

Ganja was money. I am sure you are aware that there used to be a law in these territories requiring every individual to grow hemp if they had land. It was required for tax purposes. "Don't send money, send hemp!"
How great would that be? Help your country and fulfill your tax burden merely by growing a plant? That used to be the law of this land.

back in 2004 there was an article in a Canada newspaper about one of the islands next to Vancouver Island, and the practice of using Pot (high quality BC pot) as a medium of exchange. the going rate was about $100 to $125 per ounce - for financial transactions, like paying rent.

Bill Hicks is Legend. Bill still inspires many artists. Miss you Bill.
Does anyone else see any resemblance of Bill's "Goat boy" and "dark little poet" in Louis C.K.'s t.v. show?

For what it's worth, I smoke cannabis on a daily basis, and I have a genius IQ.
