I have felt the same way, once 3 cops walked into a restaurant we were having lunch at in Union City, NJ, that no sooner had the cops sat down to lunch when over half the patrons just walked out. When I was driving truck over the road the owner of my favorite truck stop in northern california ran a couple of highway patrolmen out of his parking lot. They were on his private property doing inspections on vehicles and running off his customers. He told them to get the hell out of there and do their inspections out on the hiway. It pissed them off but they left;D

The local cops did a survey of resturants in this are a and found that the cooks or waitresses were spitting in their sandwiches before the served them. They were afraid to go into alot of places after hearing that:)

Most people learn pretty fast to keep their mouth shut when you're getting a ticket or wrote up for a violation. Some don't and it always costs them a lot more money and trouble. When you don't dare disagree with a patrolman and don't have the money to fight it you just shut up and take it. They don't want to hear any excuses either. That brings out the passive agressive behavior in a lot of people. Cooks and waitresses have it over on the truckers when it comes to getting even. I was thinking the same thing. This cop is playing the victim card here, trying to play on people's emotions, calling it discrimination. It's not discrimination, it's not liking the blue uniform, nothing personal against that one particular cop.

Why should LEO even care? Honest question. Imagine you are a cop. Every time you put on the uniform, people all of sudden hate you. You think, if I was not wearing this uniform, these folks probably wouldn't hate me. You then realize, there's absolutely nothing you can do about this hate. Say I am a cop that patrols the beat where midnight lives. Midnight hates me, I know this. While midnight is sitting at home at night, by a nice warm fire, I am driving around in my patrol car, with the windows down, freezing my ass off. I do this, to listen. I hear glass break on one of his neighbors homes, I catch a burglar breaking in.

Now, midnight is all nice and toasty warm...he has no clue that I just caught a burglar that would break into his home.

THIS is the reason that cops are so hated by the people. I was brought up believing in a country (long gone at the time, but the memory of it was still in people's collective consciousness) where cops were a RESPECTED part of the COMMUNITY, and actually CARED about the people, their respect for the office, and the appearance of professionalism, heroism, and benevolence.

When cops stopped giving a fuck about their image in the community and their integral role as protectors of the people from criminal coercion, the community stopped giving a fuck about cops - and in many cases started hating and shooting at them. My puppy is probably the sweetest, most harmless dog I've ever had. She is full grown, but still maturing, and she weighs about 67# - she's not a huge dog and she's not a threat to ANYONE - in fact she's super-sensitive and easily spooked (whereby she bolts, and does NOT even bark). Look, I fully admit there is a lot of cops that are power hungry, corrupt, idiots. I just post based upon my experience, just as you post your examples of what you experience. My experience taught me when you do your job as a cop right, nobody notices or sees what you do. You deal with people every day who hate you, would love to find a weakness, to either attack you or try and get away.

They train you that everyone wants to kill you. They do this, for officer safety. Your tactics have to be perfect, or you can, and will get your lunch money taken.

The first thing you realize, is wow, everyone actually does hate me. The crap you deal would shock your average person. The stress level is the most intense imaginable, and the people you encounter are the worst of the worst. Solid is a good guy, and it makes sense that if he worked in the ghetto all the time, with the real assholes, he would see himself as doing good work. But the fact is, most cops harass, arrest, site, and more recently, assault and/or kill people that are not true criminals, only policy violators (and many times not even that). Hell, they don't even have to be on duty to be considered a lethal threat these days.

Ask 100 random people what their initial gut reaction is when they see a police officer, especially one in their rear view mirror... if they are honest, I doubt it will be "oh goody, Officer Friendly is on the job keeping me safe"...

Maybe they should realize that shaved heads, tattoos, and terminator shades aren't helping their image any.

Hell, I'm more afraid of cops doing me harm than any "criminal"... now why the hell should that be, since I have no intention of harming anyone?

Maybe that's because you feel you have a fighting chance with a criminal? You can defend yourself and kill if necessary, to your advantage. There is no advantage in a situation with cops.

And if a regular criminal violates your rights the cops might help you and put him away. If a cop violates your rights the other cops will defend him and help him cover it up.

Say I am a cop that patrols the beat where midnight lives. Midnight hates me, I know this. While midnight is sitting at home at night, by a nice warm fire, I am driving around in my patrol car, with the windows down, freezing my ass off. I do this, to listen. I hear glass break on one of his neighbors homes, I catch a burglar breaking in.


What midnight is asking with this post above, is that instead of patrolling the area fighting crime...perhaps, I should find a local donut shop and sit down and 'ponder' ways on how to get midnight to stop hating me, and how to be buddy buddies with him.

Is the sound of breaking glass a crime? NO.

You have been told it 'could' be a crime, and since you need job security you do everything you can to turn it into some kind of policy violation: too late, too loud, disorderly, wrong color glass, littering, etc. You see my point.

A Kop has 1 job and 1 job only: RESPOND TO A REPORTED CRIME.

Proactively and offensively HUNTING down criminals will only lead to one scenario: A total dictatorial Police State with total collapse inevitable. Where the individual's right to self determination and freedom to rule his own affairs is CRUSHED so that the collective may steal his prosperity.

Please i urge you to see that this system is the complete and TOTAL antithesis to our Republican form of Government and our Constitutional Republic.
