Went to the K-State BBall game with the family yesterday. It was a blowout. Everyone on the KSU bench got substantial playing time. Even the two walkons that don't even have their names on their jerseys. You could tell they were really nervous going in. They each missed several shots that I know they were capable of had their hearts not been in their throats. Finally, they each made a basket before the end of the game. The loudest cheers of the night were for those two meaningless baskets. They didn't matter to the final score. A 30 point win is as good as a 40 point win. The fans appreciated the hard work those kids put in knowing that they will never see the court when it matters. They fought through the nerves and made their marks. Made me smile.
