Paul on third-place finish: 'Nothing to be ashamed of'

By EMILY SCHULTHEIS (http://www.politico.com/reporters/EmilySchultheis.html) | 1/3/12 11:28 PM EST

Ron Paul (http://www.politico.com/tag/ronpaul), speaking to supporters just now after finishing third in Iowa tonight (http://www.politico.com/news/stories/0112/71045.html), said there’s “nothing to be ashamed of” and urged his supporters to be ready for the next contests on the calendar.

“I think there’s nothing to be ashamed of, everything to be satisfied, and be ready and raring to move on to the next stop, which is New Hampshire (http://www.politico.com/tag/newhampshire2012),” the Texas congressman said.

He told the crowd that he had one of the tickets out of Iowa as “one of the top three vote getters.”

“We have a tremendous opportunity to continue this momentum,” Paul added.

Most of Paul’s speech focused on his favorite topics: the Fed, getting troops out of Afghanistan and foreign policy more generally.

He brought up Nixon’s “We are all Keynesians now” line, saying, “I'm looking forward to the day when we can say, 'We're all Austrians now!'"
Paul's son, Sen. Rand Paul (http://www.politico.com/tag/randpaul), was visible in the background during the entire speech, looking less than thrilled.

I don't think you should hate America, you should hate humanity. Humans generally are submissive Collectivists who enjoy their own destruction. They are wired/trained from birth to obey authority, do as their told, and not to think rationally. Anyone outside of the norm is Evil to the Collectivist hive mind. They lash out at anyone who tries to wake them up to the horrible reality they live in. There's not really any better place to go. Think about it: Humans have put up with dictators/enslavement over and over again. The only reason America got from the start is a few Elitists (the Founding Fathers) rebelled and did their own thing for a while, but they eventually died off and the Evil/corruption came back. The world doesn't work like a Hollywood movie. There is no happy ending. The Elites have always been with us and I doubt they will ever leave.

The United States is a collapsing Empire. Most people feel something is wrong, and they come to the brilliant conclusion of wanting more of the same. It's a mass insanity. The Elites say bark, the people bark. The Elites say pay them, the people pay them. It's easy to understand why Elites even exist with such a stupid, irrational species as humans are. We do not progress. We, over hundreds and thousands of years always repeat the same mistakes over and over again since we are still the same species, the same blood, the same genetics.

The only way a sizable percentage of the people wake up is if everything collapses, then for a short time they will not be tools, but look to what really matters in life. The would only be short lived since these dumb fucks will want a new group of people with a monopoly of violence to keep them feeling "safe", and the cycle will repeat. Time is NOT from Point A to Point B, it is cyclical. A civilization will be born from the ashes of the old one that died and crumbled before it. There will be a golden people of peace and prosperity. The people will get gluttonous and lazy and demand a the monopoly of violence to do more and more for them at the price of more and more force. This monopoly will quickly turn on them and enslave them, it then grows like a parasite, choking every last amount of goodness and wealth from the people until it KILLS the people, collapsing everything and beginning the cycle anew.

The only thing that changes is technology. Technology is the great equalizer that changes everything. The poorest American has more advanced technological conveniences at their disposal than the parasitic Elite Rothschild did 100 years ago. The only thing that will free humanity from itself is technology. I don't want to go more into this subject since it spooks a lot of people, so I'll end my rant here. Play Deus Ex: Human Revolution, 1, then 2 (in that order,) to find out more. The real battle for freedom is not now. It's in 10-60 years when the true future of freedom and what humanity WILL BE is decided.

It's a very important video game series by a guy (Warren Spector) who knew too much about the inside. It's WAY more accurate than 1984 or Brave New World to show where the Elite want to take us currently (1984 and Brave New World are both outdated.) He openly called out the Rothschilds/Rockefellers/International Bankers in a mainstream game to millions of people and let people know a lot more about the plans of the Elites than any other source I believe. It outlines the struggle for freedom/humanity in the next 10-60 years. This time period will determine the literal fate of humanity as a species in my view.

The New World Order has been here for a while now, and will continue to be here. The real battle will come when the technology advances to the point where we literally start merging with the machines/technology. The elites will try to use this to completely control us forever, and nutjobs like me will want to use it to enhance everyone (voluntarily of course), and free everyone.

The Iowa Caucus is NOT a democratic vote. They did not count the votes of all the voters last night.

What they did was sit around in groups, town by town, and have a big meeting, "who are we going to give our caucus' votes to ?"

Those meetings are run by Repub. Diehards.

What happened last night was that the Zio-traitors did what we knew they were going to do.

Does Iowa have a genuine primary later on, where all the votes are counted ?

I am very disappointed in the "christians" who should know better. They are deceived by the cult managers and have shunned Paul..... all because they see him as not willing to send our sons & daughters, husbands & wives over to Israel or Iraq or Iran.... to save the zionist cause. THAT is what it all boils down to in the fooled christian circles. I am ashamed although I have divorced myself from those fakes.

Not to throw another tangent into Cebu's thread, (sorry pal) but I want to comment on this post.

Shami, I happen to agree with you. Back 10-15 years ago or so when I was in college working on a Philosophy degree I spent a semester outlining a thesis of mine about technology and philosophy. Back then in the 90's the progression of AI was much further back than we are now. At the time my argument was (in a nutshell) that man is using technology to achieve apotheosis. Technology is a tool whose end game starts with immortality for men.

Your general statement that the elite are working on this, particularly for themselves to create a master class, is something I've long feared. I do think as well that within 50-100 years this goal will be achieved.

We may be one of the last remaining 'free' men for this run of human civilization. An exciting and absolutely terrifying prospect.

I would like to expand upon this premise at a later date.

I believe that this is more about social engineering than it is human nature. This authoritarianism crap starts at birth and the public school system is the lynchpin that holds impressionable minds in a single file style vice. It's not human nature that enslaves the people, it's that the bad guys understand human nature. Everything is programming or advertising and ironically a lot of the time both simultaneously. Are some of us immune to the programming, or partially immune? I think the answer is yes.

Apparently there was a "computer glitch".

“I received the first phone call at 12:20 (CST) that two precincts were missing and I wondered what happened because I knew it had been called in,” Ms. Edith Pfeffer said to this reporter from her Iowa home. “They thought there was a computer glitch in Des Moines, and the next thing I know Carolyn Tallet is pounding on my window, my phone is ringing and then CNN is calling and my daughters in DC and Cedar Rapids are calling and it seems that my precincts numbers are missing, and that a winner cannot be declared.”

Have you ever read the book "Altered Carbon" ?

Set 1000 years in the future. Humanity has figured out how to download personalities/souls into machines. Rich people, called "Methuselahs", have been downloading (and backing up) their personalities in multiple bodies since the technology became available. There are some individuals who are 200 or 300 years old, but only the "Meths" have been around since the beginning, 900 years ago when the technology was pioneered. Because they had such a head start, they have a stranglehold on the technology currently.

The main character is an assassin who specializes in killing targets who have their personalities backed up in multiple locations and multiple bodies.

Great book, exactly on topic.

That's what I mean. When I was little my parents send me to Christian school. By the age of 8 I became an atheist on my own. I thought I was the only atheist in the world till I turned 13 when I first heard someone say the word "atheist" and then realized it was more common. With in the same year I met another atheist now armed with the new identity I had and things went from there. My brain is wired in a way to not trust any authority, and to think completely outside the box. Most people aren't like this, and that's why they continue making the same mistakes over and over again. It's why anarchism only works for people like me, and not common folk.

Hey man, I'm a Christian (as of 3 yrs ago) and I feel like I was different right from the jump. When I was a kid I often had the experience of believing that a particular set of rules or procedures was actually a joke as there could be no way that large numbers of people could possibly be gamed into such foolishness.
Again, sorry to derail the thread.

"Altered Carbon" is an awesome sci-fi book, as are the sequels "Broken Angels" and "Woken Furies".
The same author wrote another book, I can't remember the title right now, about future corporate "warriors" - who LITERALLY kill each other in the course of business "deals". It's also quite interesting!

Three countries where you’ll want to have exposure

January 4, 2012
Seat 5F, Undisclosed location at 35,000 feet
Most of us have grown up steadily ingesting a hearty line of crap that has made its way into the social consciousness. Governments can’t go bankrupt. Government bonds are safe. Banks are safe. Real estate always goes up. The US dollar is king.
Yet even the dullest bystander has begun to realize over the last few years that such platitudes are questionable, at best. Many independent contrarians have abandoned them altogether.
The big issue is this: there is no such thing as risk free. Government bonds carry risk. Cash in a bank carries risk. Cash under your mattress carries risk. The oldest, most well established companies in the world carry risk. There is no escaping it. We can no longer assume away risk with anything.
Even the nature of the market itself has become risky, particularly in the developed world. The price discovery mechanism no longer exists — a consequence of the market being dominated by fresh swaths of newly-minted money and the latest round of political innuendo.
As an example, a few months ago US Rep. John Larson introduced H.R. 2835 (http://www.govtrack.us/congress/billtext.xpd?bill=h112-2835). It’s purpose?
“To establish a joint select committee of Congress to report findings and propose legislation to restore the Nation’s workforce to full employment over the period of fiscal years 2012 and 2013, and to provide for expedited consideration of such legislation by both the House of Representatives and the Senate.”
What will they think of next — a bill proposing that the S&P 500 readjust to 2,000?
These people will never learn that you cannot legislate your way into prosperity. And yet, it’s organizations like the United States Congress, the Treasury Department, the Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank, and the International Monetary Fund which underpin the modern financial system.
As long as these guys are around, those old timeless investment strategies are nothing more than a recipe for financial ruin. Municipal bonds for tax efficiency? S&P index funds for guaranteed long-term investment results? US Treasuries for safety and security? Throw all that nonsense right in the garbage.
Entrusting your hard-earned savings to such conventional thinking is incredibly risky. And with this notion of risk in mind, it’s really time to think differently about investing.
Here’s the good news: it’s a great, big, giant world out there that’s full of opportunity. If you start by looking at places that actually have solid structural fundamentals (i.e. countries and markets that are in good shape and have a bright future), you’ll come up with some incredible possibilities.
Here are just a few that score highly on my radar:
Mongolia: We’ve talked about this before– the evidence is overwhelming that Mongolia will be among the richest places in the world in terms of per capita GDP within 10-years based on its natural resource wealth.
The Mongolian market is small, but there are a number of ways to invest– including a local brokerage account (which is completely open to foreigners), a high-yielding bank account (though you do have to show up in person), direct real estate holdings, or foreign companies which invest in Mongolia.
Chile: In full disclosure, I’ve invested a great deal of my time and capital in the country. And with reason. Chile is a wealthy, market-oriented, export-driven economy, and I’m hard-pressed to think of a better, more stable place to be well-positioned for the emerging boom in agriculture.
Singapore: Did you know that more than half of Singapore’s population (of nearly 5 million people) falls within the world’s top 8.8% wealth bracket? The country’s average wealth per adult is nearly $300,000 (USD) and rising.
Given its favorable (and growing) wealth demographics, easy regulatory framework, and market transparency, Singapore is a great place to both start a business and to invest.
Cash: If you’re looking for a paper currency to hold, any of the above-mentioned (Singapore dollar, Mongolian tugrik, Chilean peso) demonstrate stronger fundamentals to any of the major currencies out there (dollar, euro, yen, pound).
For generating superior risk-adjusted returns on unallocated cash, though, I’ve found no better solution than Tim Staermose’s 4th Pillar method. More on that soon.
