Given the Greeks entered the EMU in January 2001 at 340.75 Drachma to the Euro, the current market is pricing in a massive devaluation to around 1530 Drachma to the Euro.

The Portuguese are obviously better but face significant devaluations also.

A 4.5 to 1 devaluation in 10 years.

Does that qualify for hyperinflation?

I remember when the Lira was like 3000-4000 : 1 with the dollar. It may return.
