Will watch sometime in the future.
Isn't it amusing how "never forget" applies to 9/11, but not this blatant attack on our flagged vessel.

I think Tito Howard's movie "Loss of Liberty" does a better job of explaining what really happened that day.

The Israeli's say they thought it was an Egyptian ship and the attack was an honest mistake.
The Liberty crew says that they didn't know who was doing the attack as all the boats and planes were unmarked. Which is a war crime.
Who believes that it was an honest mistake and they used unmarked craft?
I don't.
I just reviewed this again and it is testimony by the surviving crew members and other corroborating testimony. It covers the facts that Israel Jammed the radio frequencies used by the US Navy instead of frequencies used by Egypt. We had listening facilities in Lebanon that intercepted Israeli communications ordering the attack after the pilots objected that it was an American ship.

the first video has a bad lip sync problem and this one is more in sync, but seems a little more grainy to me.

On June 8, 1967, Israeli warplanes and torpedo boats launched a ferocious two-hour attack against the USS Liberty, an American intelligence ship operating in the eastern Mediterranean. Of the 294 men aboard the vessel, 34 were killed and 172 were wounded.
For years the survivors kept silent about what happened, under threat by military authorities of severe punishment if they revealed the truth. Now, in this powerful film documentary, USS Liberty survivors speak with moving candor about what really happened. "The Loss of Liberty" includes interviews with high-ranking Israeli military officers. High-ranking American military and civilian officials, including Dean Rusk, former U.S. Secretary of State, and Admiral Thomas Moorer, former Chairman of the Joints Chiefs of Staff, provide authoritative analysis. "I have never believed that the attack on the USS Liberty was a case of mistaken identity," Admiral Moorer has said. "What is so chilling and cold-blooded, of course, is that they [the Israelis] could kill as many Americans as they did in confidence that Washington would cooperate in quelling any public outcry. I have to conclude that it was Israel's intent to sink the Liberty and leave as few survivors as possible."
"Israel's premeditated, sneak attack, on the USS Liberty was a direct attack on America," says Phillip Tourney, a crewman wounded in the attack. Awarded the Bronze Star for his heroism under fire, he is president of the USS Liberty Veterans Association. "The disgraceful refusal of unpatriotic American governmental officials of dubious allegiance to defend America and come to the aid of brave Americans under attack can only be characterized as treasonous," he says. "The Loss of Liberty" tells the shocking, long-suppressed truth about the treacherous assault, and tears to shreds the shameful official story that the attack was a case of mistaken identity.«

More people need to be made aware of this so that they can clearly see that the 'Israelis' are NOT our 'friends'.

By the same token, should the American people get a 'pass' simply because it's their leaders who are fucking over everyone else?

Thanks to your efforts on GIM you made me see the light about the Zionists.
In the old days I had a link to the USS Liberty site in my sig line and thats when skyvike invented the new requirement that any site you linked to had to be your own site. It wasn't long after that that skyvike found a reason to permaban me. My old Dansk buddy, NOT.

I think we should investigate and study the attack on the USS Liberty then declare war on those SOB's that did it. I remember hearing about it when it happened and it was a turning point for me in trusting our government. SOB's

Israel was having themselves a little Human Sacrifice Ritual, killing the hundreds of Egyptian soldiers that had surrendered.
the USS Liberty documented this war crime.
the Jews didn't like having proof of their war crime. they tried to destroy the evidence.
this is one of the third rails of American "journalism". any media employee that talks about the USS Liberty incident, for example by mentioning the anniversary (June 8, 1967), loses their cush salary.

" "I was never satisfied with the Israeli explanation. . . . Through diplomatic channels we refused to accept their explanations. I didn't believe them then, and I don't believe them to this day. The attack was outrageous "
-- US Secretary of State Dean Rusk
"...the board of inquiry (concluded) that the Israelis knew exactly what they were doing in attacking the Liberty."
-- CIA Director Richard Helms
"To me, the picture thus far presents the distinct possibility that the Israelis knew that the Liberty might be their target and attacked anyway, either through confusion in Command and Control or through deliberate disregard of instructions on the part of subordinates."
-- CIA Deputy Director Admiral Rufus Taylor
"I can tell you for an absolute certainty (from intercepted communications) that the Israelis knew they were attacking an American ship."
-- NSA Deputy Director Oliver Kirby
". . . the commander of the Sixth Fleet was informed by the Washington Intelligence Apparatus that it had evidence that the Liberty was going to be attacked and to provide protection for it. That message was never really acted upon, and the ship was dead in the water when it was hit. So the end result was no accident."
-- Raymond Tate, Deputy Assistant SecNav and Deputy Director, NSA, "Worldwide C3I and Telecommunications" (1980, pp. 25-47)
"That the Liberty could have been mistaken for the Egyptian supply ship El Quseir is unbelievable"
-- Special Assistant to the President Clark Clifford, in his report to President Lyndon Johnson
"The highest officials of the [Johnson] administration, including the President, believed it 'inconceivable' that Israel's 'skilled' defense forces could have committed such a gross error."
-- Lyndon Johnson's biographer Robert Dallek in Flawed Giant, Oxford University Press, 1998, pp. 430-31)
"A nice whitewash for a group of ignorant, stupid and inept [expletive deleted]."
-- Handwritten note of August 26, 1967, by NSA Deputy Director Louis W. Tordella reacting to the Israeli court decision exonerating Israelis of blame for the Liberty attack.
"Never before in the history of the United States Navy has a Navy Board of Inquiry ignored the testimony of American military eyewitnesses and taken, on faith, the word of their attackers.
-- Captain Richard F. Kiepfer, Medical Corps, US Navy (retired), USS Liberty Survivor
"The evidence was clear. Both Admiral Kidd and I believed with certainty that this attack...was a deliberate effort to sink an American ship and murder its entire crew.... It was our shared belief. . .that the attack. . .could not possibly have been an accident.... I am certain that the Israeli pilots [and] their superiors. . .were well aware that the ship was American."
-- Captain Ward Boston, JAGC, US Navy (retired), senior legal counsel to the US Navy Court of Inquiry
That the attack was deliberate "just wasn't a disputed issue" within the National Security Agency
-- Former NSA Director retired Army Lieutenant General William Odom on 3 March 2003 in an interview for Naval Institute Proceedings
Former NSA/CIA Director Admiral Bobby Inman "flatly rejected" the Cristol/Israeli claims that the attack was an accident
-- 5 March 2003 interview for Naval Institute Proceedings
Of four former NSA/CIA seniors with inside knowledge, none was aware of any agency official who dissented from the position that the attack was deliberate
-- David Walsh, writing in Naval Institute Proceedings
"It appears to me that it was not a pure case of mistaken identity."
-- Captain William L. McGonagle, Commanding Officer, USS Liberty, speaking at Arlington National Cemetery, June 8, 1997
"To suggest that they [the IDF] couldn't identify the ship is ... ridiculous. ... Anybody who could not identify the Liberty could not tell the difference between the White House and the Washington Monument."
-- Admiral Thomas Moorer, Chief of Naval Operations and later Chairman, Joint Chiefs of Staff, quoted in The Washington Post, June 15, 1991, p. 14
"Those sailors who were wounded, who were eyewitnesses, have not been heard from by the American public. . . [Their story] leaves no doubt but what this was a premeditated, carefully reconnoitered attack by Israeli aircraft against our ship."
-- US Senator Adlai Stevenson III in interview with Wm. J. Small, UPI, for publication September 28, 1980"
