Commander is a headcase and what he is ordering the captain to do is completely useless! Something is just not right about this whole thing

The captain of a capsized Italian luxury liner, after abandoning his damaged ship, ignored orders to get back on board while lying and whining to Coast Guard officials.
“Do you realize it’s dark out here and we can’t see anything?” moaned Capt. Francesco Schettino (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Francesco+Schettino) after the Costa Concordia (http://www.nydailynews.com/topics/Costa+Concordia) smashed into the rocks off the Tuscan coast Friday.
Coast Guard Commander Gregorio Maria DeFalco responded angrily to the complaint.

“Do you want to go home?” he snapped. “It’s dark so you want to go home? Get on the stern of that ship, climb that ladder and tell me what can be done, how many people are there and what they need. Right now!”
A transcript of the bizarre conversation was released Tuesday morning and posted on the Italian news web site Corriere della Sera.
The captain was grilled Tuesday by Italian prosecutors before a judge’s expected ruling on whether Schettino should remain under arrest for leaving the damaged cruise ship.

The disgraced captain of the Costa Concordia cruise ship has claimed that he only abandoned the sinking liner because he "fell into a lifeboat".

Francesco Schettino, who has earned the nickname 'Captain Coward' for abandoning his ship while passengers remained onboard, insisted at a court hearing regarding his conduct: "The passengers were rushing all over the decks trying to scramble into the lifeboats.

"I didn't even have a lifejacket because I had given it to one of the passengers - I was trying to get them into the lifeboats in an orderly fashion.

"All of a sudden the boat listed between 60-70 degrees, I got trapped and ended up in one of the lifeboats. That's why I was in there."

It doesn't matter if the Captain is a woman or a man, the Captain is supposed to be the last to leave the ship.
