Thanks I have been interested in them for a while I am currious to see what a "serving" is

If it is like Mountian House I need to apply a "serving" bellcurve to how much is needed.
(a pouch of mountian house is one meal and can only really be eaten that way,but counts for anywhere between 2-4 servings.)

I wish the calories per ounce would become the standard unit of measure for this stuff the Serving scam pisses me off.
I despise the "serving unit of measurement as it is worthless as far as a unit of measurment it tells me nothing. How about somthing that denotes volume is that too much to ask for?

i know, the serving thing with freeze dried stuff is a total marketing scam. i actually bitched at the freeze dry guy one time about it on the phone, and he told me that they have to do it that way because government contracts for the military require it. i don't know if i believe him though.

Thanks for the link... I ordered today and it shipped same day. It does have high sodium levels... but if TSHTF I dont think that will be my first concern. I will buy a bucket or three I think... based on how I like the samples. Thanks again!!!! 8-)

The mightmanx review:

Overall= not worth the money
Size 2 servings = one real serving
taste (savory stroganoff)= like hamburger helper with less salt.
Filling= yes
enough calories= no each "serving" was 250 calories.

I prepaired it under less ideal circumstances like it would be in reality. So not quite fully cooked some slightly crunchy noodles and other not ideal preperation methods.

It is not like MTN house you can't heat water and dump in the pouch and eat in 5 minutes.
(You can't even fake that cooking method it I tried)

You prepair it like any other boil noodle combo you buy at the grocery store but you turn off the stove and wait 1.5 times longer from boil compared to Knorr lipton etc.

For the cost you get 1000 calories for 7 bucks so that is $3.50 and 500 calories per real meal. There are better deals out there. I put it cost at the same as Mtn House with twice the work and no better nutrition and less variety.

The taste quality etc. reminds me of a Lipton knorr ready made pasta side with a few more fillers. For the cost and prep (you need a pot and boiling water and you basicly cook it) I would rather buy 7 pouches of pasta sides and use them. They do not keep as long but you get more calories per dollar.

So if you are looking for a just add water and eat out of the pouch meal this is not it.

Imagine low sodium Hamburger Helper stroganoff with a 25 year shelf life.

Hope that helps. I did not cover nutrition much because 95% of the GSUS crowd cares far more and are much smarter than I on nutrition.
