I'm the proud papa of a brand new composter.
Re-designed from others I saw on the net and she works like a charm! Feel free to enlarge the pics if ya want.

Very nice. I will have to make one. I've been wanting one for years. Nice design.

very nice !

is there a reason you used the swivel casters ?

normally they are more expensive.

BUT - if you turn the frame upside down, you have a rolling cart. i was wondering if that is part of the design.

LibertyTree, do you have the space to build a bigger compost pile ? 8 feet by 8 feet, 6 feet high, for example.

They didn't have any non swivel casters and that was a PITA, I had to bugger up the bearings to stop the swivel.

The design was purely ease of use and functionality, improving on the ones I saw online.

8 x 8 x 6 is probably a little on the large size.

He really put a lot of thought and work into building it.

Thank you Libertytree!

My pleasure K-os, it was a cool project.

I should also add that the frame was from a wooden stand that was basically just falling apart that I found outside and I reenforced with left over fencing wood. So if it looks a little "Frankensteined", it's because it is.

Nice design! I esp. like being able to direct load the wheelbarrow. You can place a screen or classifier over the top and sort as you unload. I have one I kick around the yard, but it's a bitch to unload.

Very cool LT.

I love the casters and the dump out ability.

Did you added any aeration holes in them?

Has this been patented? If so, I will just have to improve the design. ;D

Yep on the aeration holes. No patent, it's a free use item. Ya gonna put a motor on it?

I knew you would like this project, because it contained a creative element. You far surpassed my expectations!

One thing I really like about you, man, is that you are really good at using whatever stuff is lying around.

Thank ya hon, I really get off on McGyverin'/riggin' things and turning a sows ear into the proverbial silk purse. Nothing into something, esp when folks throw it out like trash! In a SHTF or even a (further) economic downturn I really think this skill/art is mega useful, it's been my experience that most people always just want to go to the store and get whatever instead of thinking alternatively, outside of the box and doing more with less.

I've always been a person of meager means, I grew up that way and even when I was doing really well $$ wise I kept that mindset and to this day it brings me happiness and it does save a whole lot of money.

Ya know. I HAVE to apologize to Heim! He came over and gave me a hand putting it together. Working with a barrel is problematic for one dude and he really helped me out..we had a good time in the process too ;D

Thanks Heim!
