The U.S.-led campaign to bring about regime change is escalating. The European Union has announced a complete embargo of Iranian oil. Taken together with the other economic sanctions imposed by the U.S. and its allies, this is a campaign meant to impose maximum suffering on the people of Iran by destabilizing and destroying the country’s economy. At the same time, covert action inside the country, including assassinations, sabotage and drone over flights, is intensifying. U.S. military bases surround Iran, while nuclear-armed U.S. aircraft carriers and Trident submarines sit right off its cost.
The Israeli government, which is the largest recipient of U.S. military aid, is threatening to unleash military strikes against Iran at the same time as the United States and NATO powers impose economic sanctions and carry out covert operations to destabilize the country.
The pretext for this aggression against another country in the strategic Persian Gulf region is that Iran is developing nuclear weapons, an assertion that Iranian leaders have denied. The utter hypocrisy of this charge by the world’s leading nuclear weapons power and its nuclear-armed allies, including Israel, Britain and France, could not be clearer.
U.S. seeks to repeat history
Sixty years ago, the U.S. and British imposed a worldwide embargo on Iranian oil in response to the nationalization of the country’s petroleum resources by the Mossadegh government, the first democratically elected government in Iran’s history. The embargo weakened the government enough so that in 1953 the U.S. CIA was able to carry out a coup, and place the Shah (king) back on the throne. For the next 25 years, the Shah served a extremely brutal agent of the U.S., killing up to 100,000 Iranians in the regime’s notorious torture chambers, and turning the country’s resources over to U.S. oil companies and banks.
Twenty-one years ago the U.S. pushed the UN Security Council a total blockade of Iraq. Thirteen years of sanctions killed more than a million Iraqis and severely weakened the country, paving the way for the 2003 invasion and an occupation which killed a million more Iraqis and killed and wounded tens of thousands of U.S. and other occupying troops.

This is reminiscent of February 2003, when millions of people world-wide demonstrated against the impending war on Iraq.

The MSM ignored the demonstrations. Didn't cover them. Like they never happened. You could see how big they were on the internet.

The government ignored them as well. These are imperial wars. The people have no say about them. Same as the 'elections'.

Nevertheless, if there is one in my city, I'll show up to add to the body count.

Fact: Israel, unlike Iran, refuses to sign
the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, or allow the
International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) into Israel
to monitor its nuclear program.

Fact: There is active discussion in the Israeli
media about whether Israel will carry out military
strikes against Iran’s nuclear energy facilities. Israel
bombed similar nuclear civilian energy facilities in
Iraq in 1981 (“Operation Babylon”) and in Syria in
2007 (“Operation Orchard”).
Should we go down there with "Remember the U.S.S. Liberty" T-Shirts?

I think it is organized by the war mongers to draw attention and get Iran shaking in their boots.

I agree with Hatha....this is a excersise in futilty

Best action to take is the accumalation of hard assets and be ready to step back and let the system collapse under its own weight of corruption

It is almost as if the demonstration is the starting shot to the war!

This is interesting. Are you saying it's the type of thing that since there was an organized protest against the war, and since not that many people showed up, it is a public acceptance through inaction?

No, it was millions that protested against the Iraq war. They did it anyway. It's the ultimate chutzpah maneuver!

They show they don't care one iota about public opinion!

you've gotta be skeptical of such mass nationwide organized "protests" coming out of nowhere. Authenticity test will be, is there calling BS on the warrenterra hoax, is there finger pointing at izzy as invisible hand? If so, how are they received by the "leaders"?

It's like the dilemma with OWS- they're toothless, and most measurably cost police overtime. Short of general strikes, which it would by hard to achieve >10% of the workforce for- it seems most effective & non-violent protests would be moving any spare savings out of big for-profit banks, out of wall st, and into local credit unions, & buying gold/silver.

There was another one in March of that same year, also organized by ANSWER. I went to that one. Pouring rain, but there were probably 75,000 there. Same deal, media acted like a couple of hundred people showed up.

I still like Twisted Titan's idea. If we organized enough people just to buy physical metals we could really screw up the life blood of these bastards.

Yes, Twisted has it right, if there are enough organized people, they could do ANYTHING. Non-payment of taxes, transferring paper to hard currency, closing bank accounts, etc. The possibilities are nearly endless.
