They may stalk prey, but some cats go their whole lives without ever making their first kill. Genetics only go so far, the environment determines the extent of genetic expression. Also, spend too long in a certain environment, and other previously dormant genes will start to express themselves. That's the beauty of genetics - part of their genius is the adaptation aspect.
