I had the opportunity to stop in and visit with Gerald Celente. With very short notice, he was willing to meet me. Gerald was very gracious to interrupt his work and take in a total stranger who happened along. I found him to be just like his videos, but in person he seems more introspective, sensitive, and passionate about other things than is obvious from his videos.

We must have talked for an hour. He also put up with standing for a photo.

He gave me a couple issues of his The Trends Journal, which I had to admit I had never read before. They seem to be 30-40 pages of interesting, sometimes controversial commentary. I think it would be easy to agree with 90% of his positions. One thing he mentioned that raised flags was his push for a DD- Direct Democracy movement. While our system is thoroughly corrupt, I cannot see throwing out the constitution in favor of a true democracy made up of the idiocracy kind of people that are breeding today.

Gerald was clear about his passion for justice, quality of life and quality of products. With an old school flare for art, family history, and hard work, it is easy to like the guy.

What about MF Global, no inside information, did you tell him
about his friends on here ?

He blasts the tribe here as well. Video 2, 5 minute mark.

Whoever missed this, covers lots of issues, Celente is pissed.

I am listening to this again as I post, it's a blast, best performance ever.

What about MF Global, no inside information, did you tell him
about us and his friend Magnes on here ?

Yes... he said he has gotten about 70% of his money back and worked hard to keep it in the public view. He is expecting a full recovery. I hope he can get more than 100%.

I told him my hang outs. I did not mention Magnes.... sorry.... just didn't cross my little mind at the time.

For someone who makes a living trying to identify trends, I couldn't help but laugh at the irony of him getting blindsided by MF Global.

When you do business with a company, do you think they will inform you of all their mergers & acquisitions? Unless you have contacts everywhere, it is easy to find out the next day that something happened.

If you have advancednotice of some big moves, please share with us. I have worked in companies where the top planners made moves and we did not find out until after the deal was done. Sometimes there are warning signs, sometimes not.

Did you speak to him about the issue of taking physical delivery from COMEX, apart from his experience with MotherFucking Global. I mean even though he made a mistake by associating with them, which any of us could do. His idea was to take delivery on a gold contract. Didn't he see any risks of COMEX default? I mean he could have just bought 100 t.oz of gold from a reputable dealer with a not to big premium, and gotten it delivered immediatelly...

I didn't ask about this, but I suspect he was avoiding any dealer markups. If I had more than $100k to buy gold, I might do the same thing.

He wears it in a lot of interviews. Looks kinda silly to me, but I'm the last one to ask about what is fashionable.

If you are 6 1 what is he 5 5 or so?

My vote goes to 5-7, perhaps 5-8. I'd say there's about a 6 inch height difference there.

I'd say 5-7 is about right. I'm 5-7 and had a friend that was 6-1 or 6-2, that's how it looked.

Ok guys, be on your best behavior, Mr. Celente may be passing through. :-X

I think our present society is turned toward and focused on instant gratification without concern for producing value for others. We buy junk to make us feel good and quickly throw it away when it breaks or fades. We are sloppy in serving others and neglect the attention to quality. I asked Gerald how we change that. He said that people need to be exposed to the finer things so that once they get a taste of goodness, they won't want to go back to junk. This generation of buying on debt, getting by, entitlement mentality- seems to have missed out on that taste. At this point, I really wonder if it is possible to innoculate them with quality to overcome their idiocracy condition. Those who are intelligent will come around, but you can't fix stupid. I often wonder what percentage of the people are stupid and usually hold that it is larger than 50%.

So, I think his idea is good- expose people to good things (and I would add- truth), and those who have that capacity to see the difference will not want to go back.
