I didn't know it was so easy to remove this tracking technology

Did not watch the video but lots of programs do this. Even better, manipulate the data versus removing it.

A deprecated program I still use on windows is Exifer, for Linux ExifTool. I discovered this when trying to watermark photos with date/time stamps taken from the exif data.

I don't think this method removes geotagging.

I found a free app that does that:

With the picture displayed on your computer press "printscreen" to copy the screen to memory.

Open up PC Paint or other editing program and press "ctrl"-"v" at the same time.

Save the file in a different folder.

Any encryption should vanish.

often, going to an earlier version of a program will get you equivalent performance without all the tracking bullshit.

for example - a software revision before 2001.

i have Photoshop from about 1995 and Photoshop CS4. i've taken a class in Photoshop to learn some of those many features. i still use the old Photoshop sometimes because i like the 'Retro' look - the absence of tracking algorithms is just a (MAJOR) plus.

I use a (Windows based) freeware graphics viewing/editing package called "XNView". It allows you to view, export, import, and delete ALL of those EXIF/ICC/IPTC/JPEGNotes/Etc. tags. It lets you do it one photo at a time, on a selected set, or in a single or multiple directories full of photos in "batch mode". It's awesome... and free!

It also has the BEST explorer image preview plugin (optional) that I've ever seen... lets you right click on any image file and see a preview thumbnail in the explorer context menu, which you can select to convert, resize, etc. without even opening the program! Did I mention that it's awesome... and free? ;D

The least you could do is provide a link. LOL

Ah.. c'mon! Punch XNView as the search term into joogle, and it DOMINATES the first 2 pages of links! ;D

How did you find this forum without being able to do a search? ;)

Just ribbin' ya... no offense meant!

Oh... BTW... www.xnview.com

Did I forget to mention that it's AWESOME... and free? ;D
