Greets!

Henny Penny (my girlfriend) has her birthday coming up... and I'm thinking of getting her this:

Yes... she's worth it! ;)

Does anyone here have this knife? What do you think of it? I've tried to find one locally to actually see in person, but no luck.

Thanks!

I would stick with Benchmade and avoid knockoff brands like Banchmade, Featherman, Chuck, and Victronose.

But that is just me.

Cry once in the beginning they say.

(yes I am being a smartass)

mightymanx,
Smartass-ness aside, I agree about crying once in the beginning... either buy quality, or be ready to buy over and over again!
I know Benchmade makes great knives, I already own 4 folders by them - including my favorite emergency tool (915 Triage in blaze orange). All of them are exceptional quality, and well worth the high initial cost.
Do you have a 940 or have you handled one? It looks like it might be the perfect knife for Henny... she's been wanting a nice pocket knife, and I thought this might be just the model for her.

My brother has bought me 4 or 5 knives over the years, mostly Smith-Wesson from Big Five... they are strong with good action & cheap. I use them all the time. I would not feel comfortable using a 200.00 + knife... give me a 20 dollar S&W and a 10th ounce gold eagle instead...

Well Gaillo, if it is for her birthday, get her a great big sparkly diamond jewelry (or gold like ximmy said )

You can always buy her a freakin knife ! or she can use yours . jezzzzz

Well, he did say she wanted it:

Now whether or not she wants it for a birthday is another can o'worms...

I am not really a 'bling' person, especially in this economy... no where to wear it & feel safe imo. One Mother's Day, all I really wanted (& got!!) was an ice maker for the freezer!

So really, it's all up to HP's 'style', and I'd guess Gaillo might have that figured out.

LOL very true MN,

Mine tried to tell me I really needed a vacuum for Christmas, I said fine get me a vacuum and something gold/silver diamond sparkly too! ( got both) I am not blingy either, I am pretty damn practical mostly, but always being practical sucks, sometimes its fun just to get a big fat sparkly piece of jewelry, hell wear it to feed the chickens !!

No derail... no worries.
Henny isn't the diamond type... she does love chocolate though! I'll give her both (a nice knife and some choc...)

anything with a handle is good...

Including motorcycle handlebars installed at the headboard of the bed?
I've run the idea past Henny... so far she's expressed no objections... ;D

Nice looking knife. The S30V sells it for me; though it is at the high end of pain tolerance for price (for a non-custom knife). Looks like an awesome Valentine's gift.

Too bad it is made by Gerber and does not have a sharpening stone.

Otherwise perfect for the Zombie appocolapse.
(Yes it is inspired by AMC's The Walking Dead.)

I don't think you are going to do much sharpening of S30V, unless you happen to have a grinder at home!
