A like-minded cashier (he's a PM bug) at an establishment I patronize regularly advised me that lately he's been seeing LOTS of pennies coming out of bank rolls lately that are clearly BU and have early '60s dates on them (he is pretty sharp and keeps an eye out). I only got to chat with him momentarily - next time I see him I will ask him to save me some examples so I can run a file across the edges to check to see if they are in fact pure Cu. His opening comment to me was, "Now this is *really* weird..."
