Work has been pretty decent lately, I have a few FRN's piled up, and gold seems stuck at the $1700 range. I'm considering starting to buy again.
Anyone else still buying these days?

I'd like to be buying right now, especially with the announcement that the Fed intends to devalue the dollar by (at least) 33% over the next couple decades. It means gold and silver will continue to rise as the dollar continues to fall. But I have no spare FRN to buy with right now. :(

I'm mulling over whether to buy gold and silver. It's hard to pay $1750 when you bought at $450!!! BTW, a 33% dollar devaluation over 20 years is wildly optimistic IMHO. The FED is monetizing massively (see Zerohedge articles). I expect 33% devaluation within 2 years, not 20!

Yes, of course I believe 33% to be wildly optimistic. But the fact that devaluation is now their stated goal, rather than say, an unfortunate side effect, means that for the foreseeable future, gold and silver are going to shine.

Less than a month later and gold is down to $1650. Should I wait a little more? What to do...

Figure a month worth of cash on hand (rent or mortgage, utilities, food, fuel) the rest should be converted to metals.

I would like to buy some now, but I have committed to buy a wind generator, 900 Watts, within the month, for my BOL, apart from the normal expenses, and I am going to Amsterdam for a loooong recreational weekend in a couple of weeks, so I have to wait a bit. But life is good! ;D

Just be sure to limit the 'life is good' excitement to just a couple of coffee shops while you are there. To many of those places may cause some neurons to misfire, permanently. :)

I'm thinking of picking up two more monster boxes of SAEs at $35 per coin. These prices are nuts, four times what I'm used to paying. But hell, these things will ony go up and up; and my money is earning zero, zilch, squat in the bank.

I bought some 10k, 14k, and 18k jewelry for 75% of melt while gold was at $1640/ozt yesterday
I've just been pickin' up scrap gold like weddings bands and such for less than melt whenever I can.

That action in itself will reduce the value of banks, fiat currency, and increase the value of physical silver. Not only is it going to be profitable for you, it is also the moral thing to do... Imagine if a million people did that?

Yep. If only some of my neighbors listened to me and put a small portion of their savings into green monsters in 2005, they could have had two for under $10,000! Now, they cost $35,000!

They may wake up to it when the newspapers tell them to buy silver at $300 per ounce. Sadly!
