The son of Robert F. Kennedy has been charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly clashing with two nurses who tried to stop him from taking his 2-day-old baby boy from a Westchester maternity unit. Kennedy and his wife called the charges "absurd" and said the nurses were in the wrong.

The son of Robert F. Kennedy has been charged with harassment and endangering the welfare of a child for allegedly clashing with two nurses who tried to stop him from taking his 2-day-old baby boy from a Westchester maternity unit, NBC New York has learned.
According to a Mount Kisco, N.Y. police report obtained by NBC New York, Douglas Kennedy, 44, took his baby from the newborn unit of Northern Westchester Hospital on Jan. 7, against the instructions of hospital staff who told him the infant needed to stay there.
Kennedy was quietly arraigned on misdemeanor charges Thursday night.
Kennedy and his wife, Molly, disputed the accusations in a statement to NBC New York, saying "these allegations are absurd."
The nurse in charge of the unit, Anna Margaret Lane, said in a deposition that Kennedy wanted to take the child "to get fresh air" that evening. As he tried to leave, he was accompanied by a doctor from the hospital's emergency room, identified in court papers as "Dr. Haydock," later determined to be Dr. Timothy Haydock, a longtime family friend.

While the nursing staff sought to get Kennedy to return the baby to his bassinet, Haydock reportedly encouraged Kennedy to walk with the baby by telling nurses that he was with him, according to Lane's deposition.
Kennedy ignored the pleas of the nursing staff and carried the newborn -- identified in court papers as "B.K." -- to the elevator, police said.

As the nursing staff tried to calm him and dissuade him from leaving the hospital, Kennedy turned and walked toward a stairwell leading to the outside of the hospital.
"They called what's called a 'code pink,'" said Elliot Taub, a lawyer for the nurses. "That is, it looks like it's someone trying to abscond from the hospital with a newborn."
Lane blocked the doorway, "placing both hands on the doorknob" to prevent Kennedy from leaving, police said. Kennedy grabbed the nurse by her left wrist and twisted it to that he could pass into the stairwell, police said.
The baby's head "began to move from side to side, and in an attempt to stabilize the baby's head, nurse Cari Maleman Luciano reached toward the infant's head," police said.
"Instinctively as a nurse, I raised both my arms toward the neck of the baby to steady the violent shaking of the baby's head and neck," Luciano told investigators in a deposition.
While holding the child in his right arm, Kennedy kicked Luciano in the pelvis with his right foot, knocking her backward onto the floor, police said.

As he did this, Kennedy fell onto the floor with the baby in his arms. Kennedy then got up and ran "down the stairs with the infant until he was stopped by security and escorted back to the infant's room," the police report said.
The police report did not say whether the infant was harmed in the altercation. The Westchester District Attorney's office declined comment on the case.
The statement to NBC New York from Kennedy and his wife said there was no crime committed.
"The nurse had no right to attempt to grab our child out of his father's arms and I, Douglas, was shocked and appalled when she did so," the statement said.
Haydock said in a statement to NBC New York that Kennedy, whom he has known for more than 40 years, was not putting his healthy baby at risk by seeking to take him for a walk outside.
"I witnessed the incident and I can state unequivocally that the nurses were the only aggressors," he said. "To charge Mr. Kennedy with a crime is simply incomprehensible to me."
Kennedy is the 10th child of Robert F. and Ethel Kennedy. He and Molly have four children.
A Brown University graduate, Kennedy started his journalism career with The New York Post and most recently worked as a general assignment reporter and bi-monthly news program host for Fox News.

I bet he knew that once they vaccinate the shit outta his kid he would be Gumby Goy so he wanted to split.

One of my kids was admitted to a hospital and they kept him there, overnight, and overnight, and they put a radio tag on him that set off alarms if he was to leave. It would go off if we cut it too. We had to go through so much bullshit and they still wouldn't release him. I had some of my lawyers call to no avail. I am serious the hospital system is as bad as prison, once you are there you are stuck. They told me that they "have to make sure he was up to date on his immunizations tomorrow". The kid is fvcking 6'1 and there is no way he was going to participate in this crap. Meanwhile they did nothing but let him get worse and I couldn't help him until I got him home.

It is truly a fvcked system, I can't even state more.

He was probably trying to take his healthy baby away from the hospital, so that they couldn't charge him any further for pointless and probably harmful medical procedures. The nurses have been trained to protect the hospital earnings with all their might, so they tried to stop the baby profit centre from leaving...

The whole idea of even going to a hospital to have a baby is ridiculas.
The best place for the mother to have the baby is in the comfort of her own HOME with a midwife or two.

I actually feel bad for Kennedy having to go through this.

QFT.

Hospitals are where the real Eugenics takes place. And like many other societies throughout time, it is where the real medical Tyranny takes place as well.

I remember when I had my daugther I didn't let her outta my sight for the entire 72 hours we were there .....I was so paraniod they were going to do something.....I literrally left my wife on the OR table with her guts hanging out because they were taking her in another room to get the official weight.

despite my best efforts they did sneak a vitamin k shot and the Silver nitrate for the eyes past me. They didn't even ask and I tried not to flip out because my baby wasn't even 5 minutes old.

I did manage to sucessfully fight off the rest of the Seige ( Hep B ,vita drops, serums etc)

Its sad when you cant fully enjoy the most breath taking moment of your life.....you litterally have to become a vigilant fanatic from the moment the cord is cut.

I'm no fan of Kennedys.....but I will always back a parent up who is protecting Their cub

Yes, and what's additionally sad is that most people don't think there's any other way. Of course it doesn't help that we're conditioned to view birth as a medical emergency from t.v. and movies.

What's really interesting is that women who consider themselves feminists or Christians think it's acceptable to let strangers look between their legs and poke around with instruments while calling all the shots for the birth.

And they both think strippers demean themselves with taking off their clothes in public; at least the customers aren't putting their faces near their naked crotch or rooting around inside with their fingers.

I don't blame Mr Kennedy for wanting to take his baby & get fresh air however,
why didn't he -along with his frn's- have a doctor come to house for the birth ?
Was he previously unaware of the hospital's procedures that you can't just take a newborn baby out of the hospital like that ?
The babies have security bracelets on them.

The minute you get in there & get registered you are their's and if you fight--Good Luck to you---
You went there.

All the good doctors who use to deliver don't even practice OB anymore just the GYN part because of malpractice.
I'm surprised there's any OB's left anymore , midwives will be making a big comeback in the future.

Be very very careful if you take a child to the hospital and reject what they want to do medically .
They will call child protective services & you could lose custody of your own kid for not allowing care.
Thank God Cebu & his son are safe.

You see the hospital procedures & rituals as barbaric & unnecessary & they see you as a THREAT period.

Giving birth in a hospital is such a degrading experience. They treat you like a piece of shit and all those women screaming like a bunch of crazies doesn't help either . I just wanted to scream SHUT DA FCK UP ALREADY I'm trying to breathe & concentrate !! I remained silent, no screaming ! Anyhoo, I had taken in all kinds of spritual things along with me, angel stuff, lights, etc & the staff was like, well this is weird we've never seen this before blah blah blah.

I said if you think this is bizarre , wait til later !

My husband was like Twister, HA !

That's a good question. If you have the money why not have a doctor come to your home if you feel the need for one, preferably someone you've known a long time.

It must've been nice back in the day when a doctor cared for you from the time you were born until you died. Emphasis on the word care in all its meanings.

The babies have security bracelets on them.

He probably was ignorant of the newer security measures the prison-like hospitals are now using.

Next thing you know, they'll be advertising "Coming soon: TSA screening personnel! For YOUR safety!"

I wonder if it's getting harder or downright impossible to sign them out "Against Medical Advice"?

They probably scream like a bunch of crazies BECAUSE hospital births can be degrading.

LAPIS !! You read me soooo well !! I just love you !!! Dem sunsabitches ! Here's a funny for you !!
After I had sat my angel stuff where I wanted it in the room, some close some farther away,
I also had a battery operated fiber optic cross & some other figurines that I had planned on using
as just relaxing methods & focal points to help the miserable ambiance in the room.

I turned all those NASTY bright fluorescent lights OFF
and just had the glow of the fiber optics lighting the room. Uhhh , I loved it & was feelin' relaxed already.
After I was all done setting up.....they were like.... I don't see how any of this stuff is going to help you with your pain.

Get ready.......

I said, actually there's one more thing that I need to do. (my husband puts his face down in his hands, that poor man shaking his head.)
I do kinda feel sorry for him sometimes... being married to me is not easy.

I said well now would be the time for me to ask you........

DO YOU MIND IF I BURN SOME HERB NOW ???? (SILENCE, DEAD SILENCE !!!!! ) SHOCK in their EYES !

What ? I asked

I just wanted to burn some sage leaves to cleanse the negativity from the room.
(it's an old indian tradition that I learned when I was younger)

They said NOOOO you can't DO THAT !!!!!

I think they thought I brought in marijuana & was gonna schmoke it or sumthin' !!!

I'm such a troublemaker !!!! Shoulda just stayed home is right !!!!!!

When it came time to push....
They took everything away, turned all the big bright fluorescent lights back on & ruined my self sedation !!
The whole time I'm pushin', the doctor kept asking us questions about my "weirdness" .
HA !!!!!!! WTF ?
The only thing that's weird is me being in this hellhole of a hospital !

Ha is right. As for their definition of your "weirdness," it sounds like another euphemism for "doing natural things that prevent us from using unnatural things that we can charge you a lot of money for."

Although I do have to say, I thought you were going to pull out some weed too! LOL. No one tells a story like you OHL! And every time I see your new avatar it gives me a (much-needed) smile and chuckle, thank you.
