just bought a Marlin 882 SS

I bought this 22 mag off a buddy for $140. Couldn't resist.
Anyone shot one of these?

This is a nice rifle for several reasons, but one thing that draws me to 22 mag is that the ammunition is inexpensive so I can shoot a lot. I don't make my own ammo, but this is pretty affordable

.22 Magnum is a wicked rifle round, achieving excellent velocity and penetration. Very effective vs midsized game, coyotes, dogs, even deer with proper placement.

I've been shooting it a lot. It seems very accurate! I think I'm gonna get a scope for it.

I really wanted to get an AR but this will have to do for now..

I was wondering .. does anyone have a suggestion for a scope? I've never bought a scope before. I was thinkin I would spend within the $150-200 range. I just want a decent scope to snipe things mid-long range with this 22 mag.

Get steel scope rings instead of aluminum, it will stay zeroed better. The rings come in different heights to accomodate different scope (objective lens) diameters. The object is to mount the scope as low as possible without having the objective ring touch the barrel.
