It is statistically impossible to predict the outcome of an election based on a polling of only .3 or .4% of the voters. When that small number is divided between 35 counties the error is each county estimate is much larger. And this assumes a homogenous voter population, which is not applicable as counties vary greatly in voter composition. Gingrich is leading by too small a margin in the socalled exit polls to accurately predict the winner. Yet in the video, with one 1% of the counties reporting after the polls have closed, Gingrich is running behind Romney. The networks used the much smaller (and lass accurate) sampling from the exit polling to project Gingrich as the winner - a projection based on only 0.4% of the voters, less than half of the 1% from the socalled early returns form the actual vote. How did the media know that Gingrich would win the election - there is no way for them to know this (unless the outcome was pre-ordained, a fancy word for fixed).

It is obvious to me that the entire election in South Carolina was fixed from the beginning and these polls are nothing but props and distractions. It would be helpful if a trained statistician could do a more rigorous analysis to back up what my intuition and common sense are telling me.

So true! I had a few die-hard fiscally conservative friends who found themselves suddenly employed by the government, and then, also quite suddenly became fiscally liberal in their voting. They admitted to themselves, and to me (believe it or not), that this was not what they thought was best for the country, but it was what was best for their own wallets. I think it's a pity, but I've never found myself in their type of situation. On a side note . . . their union told them how to vote, and why to vote that way.

I just watched the PBS nightly news announcing the super Tuesday 'results'. All the talking heads are acting like there is some legitimacy in the 'results' they are talking about. I often wonder if the news 'anchors' like Brian Williams and the people on the PBS news are aware of vote fraud, or of how Ron Paul is being marginalized. I know they just read the news, and various other scripts, and there is really very little thinking going on on their part. If they are aware of the massive lies they deliver, that would make them evil. So, I am inclined to think that they are 'morally flexible', which is a condition that arises when you are being bribed to be dumb. The news readers on the TV are waaaaay overpaid for what they do.
