Question to Mamboni and others that may know this. Given that every doctor out there, including , of course, the ones calling themselves pediatricians , rave about administering "all shots required".

I am wondering: How much does a doctor make per administered vaccine?

I bet it's got to be at least $50.

Multiply that by 35 or so "required" vaccines and by 3 (they would love to have it administered 10 times, but can't yet), makes it what, $5000 per child?

I have no idea - it's a fair question. Next time I run into a family doc I'll ask him. Most patients on either Medicare or HMO type plans. This means the doc is paid by the visit, not the procedure. Anecdotally, the docs I no are not so enthusiastic about administering vaccines.

Down here in costa rica here they frown on anything anti-biotic,

When and if you do get one, you can be sure it will be the most tried type, and in volumes that will knock you out for 2 days.
