Clearly this is an indication that the economy is turning around since platinum only does well when cars sell well and people are buying platinum jewelry. ::)

Actually I didn't know about that. What I remember is that it is used as a catalyzator in making explosives and gun powder... But for bullets they may use it because it is both hard and heavy, piercing armour etc.
