A friend nearby had a visitor drop in this morning.
If I had the property, I'd have a couple of these running around.
There are a few people around me that have these cool birds. I hear them all the time.

why?

why?

How about for the simple reason that God made them and they are beautiful. King Solomon, the wisest man that ever lived had them.

1 Kings 10:22 For the king had at sea a navy of Tharshish with the navy of Hiram: once in three years came the navy of Tharshish, bringing gold, and silver, ivory, and apes, and peacocks.

Job 39:13 Gavest thou the goodly wings unto the peacocks? or wings and feathers unto the ostrich?

I think they are facinating and beautiful, and I like birds. Imagine a world without birds?
I'm waiting to see how many chicks the Gambel's Quail have this spring, the 30 or so we feed.
I like these too and the sounds they make.

What about the Behemoth?

What about the Behemoth?

Nope, Solomon did not find those desirable, however nebuchadnezzar did like dinosaurs (dragons)

why?

Big time alarm systems that you have to feed.

Besides, birds are cool.

Set up a nesting box for the seasonal birds you have in your area.

I keep a couple of wren houses. Those guys are tiny and sing their hearts out.

Jude 1:18 How that they told you there should be mockers in the last time, who should walk after their own ungodly lusts.

A friend keeps peacocks. He's quite wealthy, unlike this writer. The birds live in what I would call an exquisite house. The outdoor area is probably 40 x 25 and totally fenced, including the ceiling of this large cage. The raccoons can be a problem. The peacocks are beautiful to behold.

I figured you wouldn't like Solomon much...

Seeing as how he was into magic and such.

Solomon was an apostate demon worshipper.

Solomon was an apostate demon worshipper.

He strayed from the Lord later on in his life but who beside Jesus Christ is perfect? When Jesus Christ choose someone to compare himself to, he used Solomon.

Luke 11:31 The queen of the south shall rise up in the judgment with the men of this generation, and condemn them: for she came from the utmost parts of the earth to hear the wisdom of Solomon; and, behold, a greater than Solomon is here.

Solomon was the wisest man who ever lived with the obvious exception of Jesus Christ. His bad choices for his lifestyle later in life was the direct result of messing with strange women, in particular the ones from Africa. Let that be a lesson to all.

Anyone keep peacocks?

I was recently reading that they are natural enemies of snakes. I would love a few to keep the rattler's at bay!

My black lab had a quail in his mouth the other day, I'm thinking the peacocks would be too much temptation for him. He hasn't caught a turkey yet, so maybe not.
