I have been using a coleman 3 season, 3 person tent for about the last ten years, the biggest selling point being that it was guaranteed to keep you dry.
it did. i have been in it during some horrendous downpours, and never got wet.
...but after ten years, it's paid it's dues and i wanted something a little more compact, easier to set up and strike, with a full fly and vestibules (the coleman fly is 3/4, no vestibule), as well as a tent that was considerably lighter. (the coleman weighs 9.6lbs)
so on my way home from work today, i decided to stop in @ my local outfitters to see what they had to offer. long story short, i picked the ASOLO Astro 2, two vestibules, aluminum poles, full fly and weighs 5 lbs. set it up once i got home, took ten minutes. not too bad for first time...lol
as soon as i got it set up, it started to rain a little, so i'm gonna leave it up for the night and strike it tommorow when i get home, after it dries.
MSRP- +/- $200, paid $169.95, plus tax. feels like a good deal...not a bad lookin tent either...

...can't wait to get camping in it! looks like the first trip of the year is going to be the end of april, a little three day trout trip. should be fun!
will post a review of the tent's performance after spending a night or two in it...
