A few pics of the Kentucky homestead.
My Margarita - Jessamine in full bloom. Evergreen throughout the year even in zone 6.
One of six Bamboo groves on the property. This particular grove is Phyllostachys nuda. It is now in its 4th year.
My mature Cherry tree in full bloom.
And a few pics of my lovely little ACDs. They are both rescue dogs, we love them to pieces.
One of my Ham Radio Antenna Arrays. This one Has a 10 meter yagi and a 6 meter yagi. They are flying on a Vietnam era army field tower. The higher Yagi is sitting at 50 feet.

A few more pics. The base of the tower, and a picture of my 25 by 45 foot garden plot. Its so green here, it looks like Ireland. The weather has been so warm, that i am thinking of planting the garden plot next weekend.

Holy crap......Your place of existence is quite beautiful. Can i build a shed and live in your backyard? Oh, and i might need a small amount of your garden space for my personal 'medicine flowers' i'll need to grow for survival.
Thanks for the pics!

I always loved spring time in Kentucky, one of my fondest memories. Thanks for the looky loo! And of course March is always sweeter when the Cats are in the FF :)

Absolutely beautiful. I am a fan of flowers and trellises as well. Nice rescue dogs, too - I barely had time to appreciate the HAM radio tower.
Do you have many fruit bearing trees? Cherry is a very nice pick.

As a matter of fact, I planted a small orchard 3 years ago. Have not had much success though.I have two surviving apple trees, two plum trees two pear trees and two peach. As for the cherry tree, the birds get most of the fruit, but its neat just the same.
I am very proud of the Jessamine. I was looking for something that would stay green throughout the winter, and this plant did not disappoint. It flowers multiple times throughout the season. We can smell it from 50 feet away.

I'm probably the last person to say this, but it's important to take soles in the small things in life.

Indeed it is General. At this point , I have no choice but to take solace in the little things . This country and its idiotic citizenry is finished. I am sick and tired of being sick and tired.
I look out upon the world I have created upon my 3 1/2 acres , and I am proud and satisfied. That is more then I will ever be able to accomplish trying to fix the worlds ills. It cannot be done. Life upon this world is nothing more than a washing machine. This cycle of sh*t is never going to stop. Fu*k it all.

That is one, great, quote.
Millwright, thanks a lot for those beautiful photos and sharing them. Very uplifting! There's a lot of beauty in this world, a good reminder of that.
Cheers!

Thank you for correcting my misspelling and not making mention of it. But I think for the time being we can kind of hide, not let the world collapse on us so to speak, but I think it's inevitable. I'm 47 years old, I was raised in communist Yugoslavia, I've been all over the planet other than Africa and East Asia and right now, I've never seen such calamity in MY country of America. No personal responsibility, no action, nothing.

You are in a slice of heaven.

Yep !
Today is a "physical day" for me, i.e. not sitting at a desk. Today I'll be Shovelling sh.t (cow manure), alternating that with carrying bales of hay.
I had been digging furrows for planting, and procrastinating on the compost piles. However it became obvious that one of the compost ingredients, the remains of a cow I butchered in my driveway, was beginning to STINK (despite the cold weather), and that I needed to re-prioritize Compost.
I took care of that, and yesterday I mucked out the chicken coop, some of the most primo compost feedstock ever. Mostly chicken manure & straw, wet & compacted - and HEAVY.
Anyway, there is something oddly satisfying about wrestling a home-made wheelbarrow up a ramp to dump the contents onto the top layer of the compost pile. Then spreading it out, adding a layer of straw - and then doing it again ... and again ... until I am exhausted and it is not so much fun anymore. Which is usually about lunch-time.

/\ My Wheelbarrow. I got 2 broken wheelbarrows for free, spliced them together to make this contraption.
