I told a girl at work that I don't own a tv. Her response, after the initial confused look: "There's a guy on American Idol who said he doesn't have a tv!"

I facepalmed.

I have not had. A tv in 15 years.
I see no need to have one.
Can you you tell why I. Should?

I still have an old CRT TV, but I never watch it. Does that count, or should I get rid of it? Can you harvest any copper from them?

I'm not aware of anything of value in CRTs.

When someone finds out I have no T V, they look at me like I don't have running water. When friends and family are over with kids, the kids sit in the corner plugged into a handheld device instead of on the dirtbikes, the fireing range, archery range, baseball field, basketball court, BMX track, mountainbike courses...or enjoying the silence.

But they are fun to break and release the (probably toxic) gas!

It's amazing the power of the TV.

When looking at RV's, I looked at a lot of very expensive ones, way out of my price range. There could be a 80K RV, and the major selling point is the damn TV. They always quickly point out the TV. Most cases a $100 TV. The TV is a huge selling point. When showing folks my rig, one of the first questions they ask..."do you have a TV?".

No, I don't. I too get that look like I'm missing out on a major necessity in life.

I do know this, if/when I sell the RV, I'm going to install a TV, then raise the price a $1000 or so. Seems like easy money to me.

It may improve your sentence building skills?

I hate TV, but, I use Netflix to watch old movies and things I am interested in. Present-day TV is too moronic.

Same here. Though I'm not in a college town (I just don't usually converse with people who would be shocked at saying I don't have a TV).

I will admit... I have a TV. However, it's not connected to an antenna or broadband source of any kind, only a DVD player. Henny and I watch DVD movies and documentaries on it, and that's it.
I also don't text... ;)

You should use a digital projector to watch movies, like I do... ;D
