i'm thinking of buying one, but damn, they are running $700-800 for a used model, $1,000 new. that's a lot of money for a .22LR.

does anyone own one of these and have an opinion? i've always wanted a .22 revolver (i have several .22 semi-autos already).

Why wouldn't you consider something like this?

Nope. Wanted to own one several months ago but the price was too much.

I wanted a .22 revolver but found the market quite small. Not a lot of choices.

exactly. why are they so expensive, i wonder? i paid half that for my s & w model 27.

I second the Ruger convertible Single Six. I've got a convertible Heritage copy of same (based on the Colt SAA) I fell into for super dirt cheap - and the seller threw in one which was missing the .22LR cylinder for free.

I used to have a S&W stainless 22 revolver with a 4" barrel. Unfortunately it was pretty worn out when I got it and not very accurate. As mentioned earlier in this thread, there is a lot more available if you'd consider a single action. I had a Ruger Single-Six and liked it, but the trigger was kinda stout. The little compact Ruger Bobcat is worth consideration. The older Colt Frontier single action .22 was really awesome.

22 revolvers have always been popular with trappers.
