MOBILE, Alabama --

Mobile police need your help to catch a mob that beat Matthew Owens so badly that he's in critical condition.

According to police, Owens fussed at some kids playing basketball in the middle of Delmar Drive about 8:30 Saturday night. They say the kids left and a group of adults returned, armed with everything but the kitchen sink. Police tell News 5 the suspects used chairs, pipes and paint cans to beat Owens.

Owens' sister, Ashley Parker, saw the attack. "It was the scariest thing I have ever witnessed." Parker says 20 people, all African American, attacked her brother on the front porch of his home, using "brass buckles, paint cans and anything they could get their hands on."

What Parker says happened next could make the fallout from the brutal beating even worse. As the attackers walked away, leaving Owen bleeding on the ground, Parker says one of them said "Now that's justice for Trayvon." Trayvon Martin is the unarmed teenager police say was shot and killed February 26 by neighborhood watch captain George Zimmerman in Samford, Florida.
Police will only say "multiple people" are involved.

When I was looking for a house to buy my brother checked out every detail of the house including the neighborhood, if there was one black occupied house in sight he would make me pass, I didn't understand fully then but I do now. Even the realtor agreed with him.

There are some very nice black people and there are some very nice white people. Unfortunately, most of any race are not so nice. How that manifests differs by race, neighborhood, country and accepted societal norms. What I see happening is a race to the bottom of acceptable behaviours.

Years ago I watched as a well-intentioned white guy was trying to buy investment properties in a black neighborhood. He was as non-biased, non-racist as you could be. We warned him that it may not be such a good idea. He went ahead anyway. A few months later his demeanor changed. One could see the tracks of stress and experience being etched across his face. Look, the bottom line is this site focuses on the negative aspects, and tends to ignore the rest. That paints a very narrow picture. That's the truth. Some folks on here think black areas are all chimpouts, and mob attacks, etc. I've had some decent experience in the inner cities, and it's always the bad folks that tend to ruin it for the good. I'd say 95% of folks are decent, don't harm others, it's the bad 5% or so causing all the crime, damage. A lot of decent black families in those areas care about their kids just as anyone on this forum does.

As far living in the inner cities, JDRock. No, because I am white and those areas are mostly black. Anytime you look or act different than the folks around you, you are the most likely target. Some goes for white areas too, a black guy walking around a white neighborhood has a higher chance of being a victim of a crime, than a white guy. Just because he's different. Same with me, or you, in a black area, or an asian area, etc.

FORREST CITY, AR – Police say a Forrest City, Arkansas man has been charged with raping his 8 day-old baby.

According to a police report, officers were called to the Forrest City Medical Center, September 1, 2008, about a baby that had been sexually assaulted. Forrest City police say the baby also had a skull fracture and had to be transferred to the Arkansas Children’s Hospital in Little Rock because of the severity of the injuries.

Investigators say the father attacked the infant during a visit at her 15 year-old mother's house. Police say other people were at the home at the time of the assault.

Solid, I think you're a decent dude, and I don't mean to rag on you, cause in the end I simply don't want to have any bad feelings between us. I think the truth trumps all however. I have had a couple freinds who are black and are very good people but this will not blind me to the truth. I meet black women who are beautifull and would make fine mates but I am taken. I am white and spend much of my time in the cities, working for and amongst blacks. I am tired of their hatred. I am tired of their ignorant bigotry. Matthew Owens Beating Not A Hate Crime, Not Related To Trayvon Martin, Mayor Says

The mayor of Mobile, Ala. said Tuesday that the brutal beating of Matthew Owens was not a hate crime, as new details emerge implicating the victim as the instigator.

Police aren't saying much about the incident Saturday, but they and mayor Sam Jones said the attack is not being investigated as a hate crime, or even a race issue.
"Wait for the facts as far as we’re concerned right now," Jones told Fox 10. "But, I would caution people to not jump to conclusions right now. This is really very divisive in communities throughout the country, and I don't think we have any reason to be divisive here because I don't see any evidence of that."
He said the fact that one of the attackers allegedly said, "Now that's justice for Trayvon" has been "blown out of proportion."

John L. Wilson Jr., the man charged with murdering 14-year-old Lyons Township High School freshman Kelli O’Laughlin, was not cooperative when officials from Cook County Forensic Clinical Services attempted to conduct a mental health evaluation on April 17 and April 20.

Wilson was ordered to undergo a mental health evaluation by Associate Judge John J. Hynes on March 6 after he revealed he was unable to follow the facts of his case.

Another attempt to evaluate his mental health will be made this week. Wilson was warned by Judge Hynes that future lack of cooperation with the evaluation would invalidate any type of insanity defense.

Wilson was found to fit to stand trial in 2003 when he was sentenced to 11 years for robbing a school and place of worship.

Wilson’s next court date is May 14 in Bridgeview. He charged in a 31-count felony indictment, including charges of first-degree murder, home invasion, and armed robbery.

The sister of a white Mobile, Alabama man who suffered severe head trauma during a beating by approximately 20 black neighbors on Saturday spoke exclusively to The Daily Caller, saying that the incident started after one of her children witnessed some of the eventual assailants stealing an item from a neighbor’s porch — not, as some media outlets have reported, following a disagreement about a pick-up basketball game in the street.

Ashley Parker, whose brother Matthew Owens is clinging to life after the assault, said Owens was attacked after her 21-year-old daughter witnessed a group of African-American youth moving from yard to yard in the neighborhood and taking something that didn’t belong to them. She told Owens, who confronted the youths.

She “saw one of them take something off a porch,” Parker said, “and that is when Matthew approached them and told them they need to go home.”

The group returned with more than a dozen others, she said, beating Owens with bats, brass knuckles, a chair, a paint can and other objects. The attack left him bloodied and unconscious.

Parker has since reinforced her account about petty theft precipitating the incident, telling the same version of events to a Facebook group that was started to support her brother.

She said she is “scared to death” and plans to move out of the neighborhood this week.

“I don’t feel safe here anymore,” she told TheDC. “My brother is being smeared. … I know how this works now. The victim always ends up the bad guy. I have lost faith in humanity because of this.

Today, the parents are whiners in the blame game determined to get their kids the gold star irregardless of them learning a damn thing and they'll throw the teachers under a bus to do it. No kidding, throughout my Junior High and HS days there was a gym teacher in each that was, no joke, the enforcer. You got uppity in class, if he found out come gym class, he whopped your ass - literally. Never punching, just wrestling but good lord did you learn not to mouth off without being prepared for repercussions!
