BREAKING: Gingrich to end White House bid (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/2012/04/25/breaking-gingrich-to-end-white-house-bid/)

Posted by
CNN Political Director Mark Preston (http://politicalticker.blogs.cnn.com/tag/cnn-political-director-mark-preston/) Washington (CNN) – Newt Gingrich will officially end his bid for the Republican presidential nomination and formally express his support for Mitt Romney next week, two sources close to Gingrich tell CNN.
While details are still being worked out, Gingrich is likely to hold his final campaign event Tuesday in Washington, DC where he will make the announcement surrounded by his family and supporters.

It is not surprising that Gingrich is suspending his campaign for the White House as he has all but acknowledged it is winding down and Romney is the presumptive GOP nominee.
"When he says he is transitioning, what he means is that he is trying to determine as a citizen how he will pro-actively help Mitt Romney become president and the Republican Party win back the Senate and help (House Speaker) John Boehner keep his majority in the House," said one of the sources, who spoke on the condition of anonymity.
It appears that Gingrich's focus will be much broader than the presidential campaign, as the former speaker, who made his name and career in the House, plans to be actively involved in helping the GOP take back control of both sides of Capitol Hill.
"It is not enough to beat Barack Obama, we also have to help the Republican Party keep the majority in the House and win back the majority in the Senate," the source said.
The decision to hold the event next week was due to logistical reasons, the sources said.

This is a shame: I was hoping we'd get a white asshole in the Oval Office for change. And Newt's is reportedly very white.

So it is Ron Paul and Mitt Romney.

Why is it that MSM isn't even allowed to pronounce name of Ron Paul?

Can you guys organize a bunch of phone calls to the moron radio hosts such as Rush Limbaugh, Glenn Beck, Michael Savage and the such, and just bombard them with "why we are not discussing Ron Paul" of some sort? General folk needs to know that they are intentionally not mentioning him, that he has 40% of the votes and MSM just ignores him?

All those radio shows have the calls screened. They are all total shams vis-a-vis public opinion. In Michael Savage's case, there are no call ins because he spends the entire program mumbling about personal issues that only he cares about - typical neurotic Jew. The guy is a total egomaniac. Forget about Ron Paul; conservative talk radio is held hostage by the Zionists: just say anything critical of Israel and you are gone.

Frothy and newt did their assigned jobs, running interference, distracting and convoluting the field. Now the meme will be that mitty is a lock for the nomination and of course that Ron Paul doesn't exist.

RP still has a shot, although a very slim one, that's always been the case so what's new? There's good news still mixed into it, Ron will have a plurality in at least 5 states, that's enough to get him nominated from the convention floor and force a vote, winning that 1st round of voting is the longshot of longshots. Anything can happen, it's a long way till Nov and if anything we all know to expect the unexpected, mitty can falter and the spotlight will be on him as the arm of the MSM and the D's start focusing on him.

Still though, in the end, the ball is in RP's court and IMO he needs desperately to have a breakout moment and call out both mitty and O, call the spades the spades and the BS the BS. IOWs come out swinging for the fences, the time for being nice has ran its course.

The time for being nice ran it's course a long time ago. I do wish that RP had been a bit more aggressive in the debates and in the short time he's been in the media. He needs to call out Obama and Mitt for what they are, full blown corporatists, owned and controlled by the banks and corporations that fund their campaigns!

mamboni, But are you absolutely sure nothing can be done?

Well, don't have to say Israel. Just needs to be brought up on the radio that Ron Paul is actually winnig. And you don't have to tell screeners you are going to talk Ron Paul :)

I know it is a delay, what, 10 seconds? But I bet someone with a bit of a whit and skill can come up with a script that would let callers to build it up slowly, so that if they cut you out it would be obvious they are hiding something. And give it to 100 people to try.
