This place was fascinating. It wasn't an anarchist utopia but the people still made the best of their bad (and cramped!) circumstances.
Based on this survey, the Walled City had a population density of approximately 1,255,000/km2 (3,249,000/sq mi) in 1987. For comparison, Hong Kong as a whole (itself one of the most densely populated areas on earth) had a population density of about 6,700/km2 (17,000/sq mi)
