Ron Paul Missed one very important point when trying to counter Van den Haag's welfare state proposals and that is that when a welfare state is put in place the people charged with running the welfare system become the worst enemy of people trying to get off of their system. In order for social workers to advance they have to sell the program to a larger group of people and expand the benefits, which in turn benefits the administrators by creating more work and more positions in the system they say they would like to get rid of.
