I don't have much memory of waiting for the sun to go down, but I do remember waiting for that to happen. The next clear memory I have is looking out the window and seeing that the sun was down. My state of mind had obviously moved towards a lack of judgment because I decided it was safe to walk home. The time of my departure from my friends was around 9:00pm. I was no longer feeling the body high, either I had become used to it, or it had just gone away. My heart was racing at an ungodly rate, but I didn't notice unless I specificaly checked. When I reached about a quarter of the way home I began to talk to my friend who had been with me earlier in the morning as I walked. We were having an indepth conversation on a topic which I can not remember, when he suddenly veered off and layed down in a patch of grass. This alarmed me because I knew that Datura may have sever adverse effects on the body causing coma and or death. I started walking to over to him so that I might get him up or carry him to the nearest place we could get help when he just disappeared. I must have looked and yelled around for him for about 30 minutes. I finally gave up and decided it was best to head to my house.

It was then that I started to notice flashes of light in the periphrieals of my vision. I looked around to discover the source of the flashes and could not find one, so I continued walking. I saw a large white puffy object that resembled a mushroom of some variety I had never seen. When I approached it, it was very large. The top had a diameter of about 4 inches, and it had a very stubby stock. This, however was not what caused me to walk over. It was the flashes of light inside the cap that interested me. It looked almost like a video of neurons firing in someones brain. It was very real to me, I could touch it. It was not untill much later that I even realized that I had been hallucinating. Everything was real to me. I had no more hallucinations on the way to my house. I did however start to have major motor control problems. My hands were almost twiching out of control, and it felt as though my knees were going to give out at times. I began to worry, and almost panicked at the fact that my knees were coming out from under me. It took all the concentration I had just to keep walking. At this point I felt that if I had fallen I would not have been able to get back up. However I did make it safely back to my house.

Upon arrival at my home I immediatly checked the time, and was flabbergasted to see it was 11:20pm. A walk that usually takes no longer than 20 minutes took me over two hours. I forgot about the time when my stomache rumbled loudly and quickly went to make myself a nice cool bowl of cereal. As I was making my cereal I remember listening to an episode of Drew Carey on the TV. It was the April fools episode with all the pop-ups like from Pop-up video. The show was coming to an end as I walked into the livingroom and sat down to eat. I ate several spoon fulls of cereal and looked up to see what was comming on next. The TV was not even on. It was at this point that I finally made a separation, and realized that I had been hallucinating. I finished eating quickly, took a long cold shower, and went to bed.

Now as for lasting effects, the only one that plauged me was the fact that my pupils remained completely dialated for a week, and I could not read any small print, or street signs from a distance. As for my friend who went to sleep in the grass, I called his house to see if he had made it home, and he answered the phone. The first words out of my mouth were, 'Oh good you made it back, you have no idea how relived I am about that.' His reply stunned me, as it still does every time I think about it.... 'I never left the house last night.' We argued for a long time, because in my mind it really happened. He was there, he layed down. And then I couldn't find him. But It was confirmed by the people who live there, that he never left the house with me that night.

I will never do Datura again. It is definitely not a recreational psychedelic. In fact it is not a psychedelic at all, it causes your body to go into a near death delerium, by raising your body temperature to dangerously high levels, Raising your heartrate to equally high levels, and drying every moisture producing gland in your body. I found it to be dangerous, and very un-spiritual. They are real hallucinations, meaning that you can not tell the difference between a hallucination and whats real. I do not recommend that anyone ever try to use datura for a recreational purpose, or at all for that matter. I feel to this day, that had I not been in as good of shape as I was that it would have killed me.


I was dead. This was hell. There were no demons, no hellfire or brimstone, just a deep, complete feeling of darkness and hopelessness. This was the never-ending void. Not at all how I had imagined it, but worse than I thought that it could have been. I've had feelings of infinite emotion on acid trips and sensations of universal truth in K-holes, but this was the most profound reality I had ever experienced. My whole existence was put into perspective, and I was being punished for wasting the gift of life. I blacked out at some point in the box and woke up in my friend's apartment the next day. He said I was out for about 8 hours. The physical effects wore off about a day later, but the psychological impression has yet to fade.


Time after ingestion: roughly 1 hour

Moe entered the room and asked if it was ok to turn the lights off. I had my fill of the “purple haze”, so I agreed to the black out. I closed my eyes and it was like a laser show. Images of random objects drifted in and out of sight while circular designs danced in the background. From here on, what I remember will be in quotes and what happened that I have no recollection of will be in stars. The following will be in chronological order to the best of my abilities.

*At this point I was drenched in sweat so I was inclined to take off my shirt. I then went to the bathroom to splash water on my face and ended up completely undressing. I kept trying and he started to laugh as every time I got up, I’d sheepishly sit down. I felt like I was 9 years old, doing as I was told or I’d be sent to my room, or worse; the corner. After many attempts, I thought I’d go at it at a different angle. ‘I have to pee’, I said. He looked at me with a warm smile and took my hand and helped me to the bathroom. I felt secure for some reason.'

'I wasn’t able to stand so I sat as my dad snickered in the doorway. I looked up at him again, wondering why I kept feeling younger and more helpless as the time passed. ‘I can’t go. Stop laughing,’ I said. He then helped me up and put me back on the couch. I sat and strained my ears for the conversation that went on between him and my mother in the other room. I kept hearing horrifying words like ‘die’ and ‘hospital’ and ‘overdose’. Its important to note at this point that in the crazy religion my family is apart of, we don’t go to doctors. They believe in healing through prayer. So if there was talk of a hospital visit, something bad was happening. I remember my father coming back in from the kitchen and taking my hand. I blacked out once again”

*I was rushed to the neighboring town’s hospital. Moe’s parents did the same and we arrived around the same time. I was rushed in and had an IV stuck in me. Well, they tried to stick me anyways. After the fifth attempt, the floor was spotted with blood and I had something being pumped through my veins. I was being extremely violent. At one point I punched a doctor in the face and broke his glasses. This is when they decided it would be best for my and other people’s safety if I was restrained. I was tied to a bed and force fed charcoal. It was not an easy task but after about an hour they had it done. I was given a new IV with some other kind of medical bullshit in it to calm me down. With my face, chest and neck covered in black coal residue, I finally found sleep.*

“I came to with people surrounding me. It was a new day and peculiar things were happening. My grandmother, who does NOT smoke, was holding a lit cigarette. I had my sister lean down to ask her if she was smoking. She responded with a simple ‘no jackass, gramma doesn’t smoke’. I looked around the room to see where I was and why I was tied down. A white board on the opposite wall read ‘You’re in the hospital, you’re ok. It is (current date) and no one is going to hurt you’. The nurse apparently did this because during my blackouts, I was violent, quixotic, and angry. I looked around the room for some familiar faces and I found them. My whole family was there. While restrained I was able to look under my blanket. I was naked and there was a tube coming out of my penis. I found this odd, because I’d never been to a hospital and had no idea what a catheter was.'

'I looked up at my IV bag and it was an ear of corn. It started growing features and it soon became an ear of corn with a face. My father then asked what I was looking at and I turned to address him confidently. ‘Cornhead’ I said with a very serious look. I looked around the room at all the odd things happening. A money clip with a ten dollar bill in it was laying next to a small fish on the ceiling. I thought this was amazing so I had to tell the nearest person. My sister again. She looked up like the dumbass she is and said there was nothing there. I asked my mother if the ‘sexy bondage’ was really necessary. She laughed and untied my hands. My feat were still restrained.'

'All of the sudden the room fell away around me and I was back at Mark’s house. I had a ps2 controller in my hand playing socom. 5 minutes of playing had passed and the controller melted into a soft, cotton material and I kept on apologizing to Mark saying I’m so sorry over and over again. I opened my eyes and I was back in the hospital. The controller was now a blanket, which I was clutching very tightly in my hands. I felt scared, vulnerable. I wept.”

DMT is quite intense (but also shockingly safe) - the granddaddy of psychedelics, but in some ways it is on the other end of the spectrum from scopalamine.

In short, DMT is worth trying..... scopalamine, not so much.

it seems it is released every night you sleep apparently and if you are still awake just before you go to sleep you naturally feel what DMT does.

When you are in pre sleep stage sometimes you may notice that everything starts getting a bit dreamy as compared to normal thinking.This to me is our own DMT being released.

Any drug experience becomes an imitation of what can be achieved naturally.


The problem with a drug like this is that someone may take it and have an experience with some higher reality and become damaged because all the bits in between where not built up in the person enough to enter this level perhaps.

The Germans did extensive research into scopolamine and similar compounds to use as a truth drug. These reactions don't sound similar. I have to wonder if it's the same drug.By the way, they found scopolamine to be ineffectual as a truth drug.
