What if the mods recreated his account though? A new account with the same name? His posts are still here. No doubt he lost any PM's he had. It's no secret I've changed usernames here on this site, it's no big deal really, it's just a username. Folks here are very smart, quickly know who's who.

I guess I just don't understand how a perma ban works, whether it's a complete IP ban, etc. What is stopping Book from rejoining as Book2? Or Notepad, or Pamphlet, etc.

The ignore function works like a charm! The only problem is when someone quotes an entire post, but that doesn't happen often.

I have never put anyone on ignore. I may avoid any thread they may start, but I think some use can be found in most anything.

I like to see Magnes's charts and thoughts on the metals. Good insights imho. That at a minimum is a reason why I don't ignore Magnes. Magnes should talk more metals.

I've tried the ignore feature on someone before....it doesn't work. It's worthless !
You have to be logged in to be able to have the ignore function even work , of course,
then when you do log in , their posts are blocked, hooray, big deal, you can still see
their screen name everywhere and be reminded that they're right there anyways.
then if somebody quotes them, you still have to "see" their schtuff.
Then you find yourself clicking on the "read their post anyway" thingy....
trust me, you're stuck with the one you want to ignore....live with it .
