Our Story

You Are God is a documentary about being the change you want to see in the world.
It is a journey into the frontier of conscious evolution, following the trails of Americans who wander off the beaten path to create a new reality. This is the story of several extraordinary pioneers who have dedicated their lives to building a better future of their own design, testing the limits of human potential in the streets and in the fields, through struggle and success.
The film focuses on two organizations specifically:
Our School at Blair Grocery - New Orleans - a New York public school teacher turned a hurricane wrecked grocery store into an urban farm that teaches at-risk kids gardening and life skills. They were recently profiled in the NYTimes (http://www.nytimes.com/2011/01/16/education/16blair.html?pagewanted=all).
Open Source Ecology - rural Missouri - founded by a physicist, the project is a network of farmers and engineers who are building a global village construction set, which are the 50 machines necessary to build small, sustainable civilizations (including electricity and water). Recently profiled on NPR (http://www.npr.org/2012/02/19/147110017/building-a-village-one-home-brewed-tool-at-a-time).
These people illustrate that it is possible to transform one’s life completely despite economic and societal barriers by utilizing one of our greatest resources: creativity. There are extraordinary ways to live and thrive that most Americans never imagine.

The Impact

Our motivation for making You Are God is a belief that we are all capable of living in balance with our environment while leading fulfilling and meaningful lives. The consumer lifestyle in America is not sustainable and people are suffering unnecessarily as a result of economic oppression and lack of autonomy. If we are to support ourselves with renewable resources and truly strive for economic equality we will to have to explore new ways of living, and empower ourselves to do so.
We plan on using this film as a tool to inspire people to take action in their own lives and communities.
You are God cannot get made without your financial and moral support through this Indie Go Go campaign. Be the change by helping us make this important film!

Idiocracy? ;D

Sorry... but I've had all the "community organizer" economic equality BS that I can handle for one lifetime.

Not to bust on them but I am always astounded by the fact that the simple understanding of currency and coin that eludes the best and brightest.

A simple policy of making everybody watch a short vid on gold and silver and why it valuable would slove all their problems where they would never have to beg for a dime.

Especially zinc ones
