@old steel: At this point we don't know anything for sure, I am sure someone will come online and start talking about it soon. Hopefully the Admins are in control, and if so I thank them for their hard efforts. John Q Public is rock solid about this type of stuff.
Looks like we had a backup that ran ~21st May 2012 02:07 AM, so that's why those are the most recent posts now. I conjecture that the drive that had the more recent posts crashed...

I only lost 3 thanks, biatchez!!! ;D
Seriously, though... I'm just as much "in the dark" as the rest of you - I've been trying to access the site most of the day, and been getting some kind of database error page. :( ???

Sorry guys. As I said ni a previous thread there was a hack in part of the forum. They are supposed to extract the hack then upgrade to 4.2.0, but we are still at 4.1.3. I am trying to find out what is going on. Sorry about the the time down.

Its probably more like a vulnerability or potential exploit in the bulletin board code. Patching the holes for platforms like these usually means backing up the database (posts), installing the new version and then importing the database, take a deep breath, cross everything and hit the big shiny button.

This is my understanding as well, trying to piece all of this together. In addition, from my recent memory I recall something JQP posted about the "Thanks" feature being the culprit... JQP has not yet posted as to whether this has been verified as the actual root of the problem or not.
Not that Serpo (our current "Thanks" champ) would notice... should the "thanks" count need to go away. We'll always be thankful, my brotha!! :)

So at this point, is it worth it to start any new threads until the upgrade occurs?
