I can see how the technique could be used to hide the truth from coming out about an illegal or immoral action, at least long enough for the guilty parties to get away scott-free. Any other scenarios about how it might be used Hatha? Is the technique actually named 'infamous' or is it just being labelled as such?

It's a quote by Ezra Pound, illustrated with pictures of a current example.

Can be used to discredit a man. They tell two lies and spread it around. It is unikely that the man can refute both, and even if he can, his credibility is ruined. Just one of their many tools.

I watched Bill Moyer's Journal with Bill and 2 guys telling mainly truths all wrapped in the big lie that the war on terror is a real event.

Ironically the shows title was "telling the truth about xxx"

What do you think the left/right paradigm is?

Only a small fraction of the population has the capacity for original thinking. They will "analyze" information provided by others without questioning what vital information has been omitted from it.

Can we conclude that two big lies are better than one?

You can do this with one lie. Here's an example.

Lyndon Johnson. in one of his election campaigns called his opponent a Pig F**ker. One of his aides pointed out "Lyndon, you know that's not true." Johnson replied, "Yes, I know it's not true. I just want to hear him deny it."
