From google ebook "principles of federal law ... " circa 1907

Isn't it GOOD to feel that congress is out there protecting you?

Even aliens are granted a measure of protection.

Sure seems like a protection racket, doesn't it?

In a way it reminds me of the statement made by some obscure German general, that war existed for the benefit of the defender, that the invader came offering peace.

Amendment VNo person shall be held to answer for a capital, or otherwise infamous crime, unless on a presentment or indictment of a grand jury, except in cases arising in the land or naval forces, or in the militia, when in actual service in time of war or public danger; nor shall any person be subject for the same offense to be twice put in jeopardy of life or limb; nor shall be compelled in any criminal case to be a witness against himself, nor be deprived of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor shall private property be taken for public use, without just compensation.

You have to learn to actually read and understand words. That is fundamental to communications.

You only have any rights if you SPEAK UP. That would be creating a person through the mechanism of words. Such a person (words) might have a DUTY as well if you slander or defame the reputation of someone.

An action (any action) creates a person that might have a DUTY attached (society frowns upon robbing banks for instance).

Or you can select an AGENT and create your person through REPRESENTATION.

Nowhere in the constitution or any other government document do they address real people. Nothing in the constitution applies to YOU!!

Right back at you twit.
My, my, my ... you certainly are quick to revert to your nature. I do believe you are not capable of reasoning on your own. It hurts when your fundamental beliefs are proven wrong, doesn't it?

palani, you thoughtless, blathering twit, you have to learn to actually read and understand words IN CONTEXT. That is fundamental to communications.

The only thing you prove is that your incoherent, disjointed blathering is as meaningless as your attempted insults.

Pardon me. I thought "twit" was somewhat demeaning. Isn't that how you intended it?

So what is the problem with just reading material as provided and remaining civil? Seems to be you are displaying you frustration. Maybe there is something fundamentally wrong with your position then?

Carl, I think Palani is dealing with the 'law' which is designed to confuse people, and he's putting it in the context so that plain English speakers can understand not only what it says, but also what it means. It's been very helpful to me. Also, he's being civil, and you are baiting him.

Hatha His post are baiting. He's nothing but a little troll that post out of context tidbits, implying some nefarious hidden meaning behind them that we're supposed to figure out and if anybody does, he's ready with a snide condescending retort that isn't related to the post at all, that implies something else.

If that were the case then that makes you a fish? I'm tossing you back. You aren't a keeper.
