Anyone here using duckduckgo.com?

The giant that is Google has not stopped other companies from jumping into the Search Engine arena. Obviously emulating Google is not a winning strategy. Companies like Blekko and DuckDuckGo have realized this, and attempted to round out the Search Engine experience. DuckDuckGo’s current marketing strategy is aggressively taking on the G giants where it may hurt the most – privacy.

DuckDuckGo was founded by Gabriel Weinberg, an entrepreneur (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Entrepreneur) whose last venture, The Names Database (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Names_Database), was acquired by United Online (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/United_Online) in 2006 for $10 million

Nope, I use Yandex, it is a Russian company, and if anyone is going to sell/steal/mine my data I'd rather it be a company in a country I don't live in. I assume they do not cave as easily to DHS requests as the american tech companies.

Edit to add that I also use yandex for email as well for the same reasons.

I use duckduck and so far I like it. As for privacy it seems fine but I'm not any computer guru. Doesn't seem to hoard cookies like joogle.

ixquick.com is a sister site to startpage. Both promoted by Alex Jones, so I don't really trust them any more than google. I don't bother masking shit. They already know who we all are.

Masking shit would probably just nudge up the ranking on the alphabait agency list of suspected terrorists!

The truth is, imo, google is just superior to all the other search engines. They basically have a cached version of the entire internet, and their tools are better.

Unfortunately they are in bed with the satanic elite.

One more post, Neuro, and you're at 5000.

That isn't quite true, Google only has a cache of the internet sites who WANT to be on there via meta tags. There are quite a few sites who are not published and you will never find them via google.

Search engines anymore are just extremely large and powerful indexing services. They crawl out for sites who want to be listed and when you type in a name will find it rather quickly. But other sites, in deep web will not ever be published or found on google. Google can only access I think 8% of the websites on the internet.

Thanks Ares.

Bottom line is, I seem to find whatever I'm looking for easier with Google than with ixquick or startpage.
