I don't have kids, so I hardly feel qualified to comment on this, but when has that ever stopped me?

In one way, I think it's good that kids learn about emergency preparedness. Maybe then the children won't rat on their parents for prepping (flagged as domestic terrorists according to .gov). What is the actual harm to the child? I remember having fire drills at school and I wasn't terrified of fire. I think if I had to live through the nuclear threat and the "duck and cover" campaign as a child, I might feel different. I am not sure, however, since I can only see that campaign through adult eyes.

On the other hand, what is the real value of children having to think about packing an emergency bag? The only thing I can think of is that the kid is supposed to ask mom and/or dad if they have an emergency bag.
