Yeah, it's a huge problem. Just when you think you've caught one breaking his vow, he'll claim that he's an innocent Jew by virtue of Kol Nidre. Then the neverending legal twisting of words and meanings begins. The problem just festers, never to be resolved. Perhaps this is why the Byzantine Christians strictly forbade Jews from participating in political office and other state functions.

It's the usual jawboning to avoid responsibility, like when Clinton obfuscated his obvious adultery in the White House with the "it depends on the meaning of 'is'" canard. We are really at fault for allowing these liars, thieves and BS artists from getting away with this gesticulation. We have fallen for the "non-judgemental society" as kinder and gentler lie and consequently, the conartists and sociopaths have taken over and are eating out collective lunch. The next time you catch someone lying, stealing or trying to excuse his derelection of duties, just tell him that this is the penalty and the price of failure, period.
