I saw the new Springfield Armory XDS Single Stack .45ACP Micro at the local gun shop this afternoon. They seem to be quite popular and the two I saw were bought while I was standing there talking to one of the store employees. Did get to look at one tho. A little long trigger pull but breaks nicely. May have to get one. Have been looking for a pocket rocket in .45 ACP.

Don't have one yet but am thinking about it. Yeah, I am a Glock and Beretta owner when it comes to modern handguns so this would enter the stable with the others.

I'd stay with the Glocks. The XD's just dont have the longevity and long term durability that Glocks do. I know thats a tough benchmark to match and most people wont ever shoot their guns enough to get to that point, but I've a feeling you're a man that puts a lot of ammo through his guns.

XD's got big on the competition circuit for a while over the last few years and it seems most reports now are saying they are phasing out slowly in favor of other polymer handguns and.....Glocks (notably the gen 4).

Not to oppose what Heim is saying, because I am a big Glock fan myself and own few, but I have heard really good reports on the XD(m) too. In fact, I have heard nothing BUT good reports.

Personally I would buy one in a second flat if I had the money to burn.

I have had the pleasure of shooting a few XDM's and they are awesome! I, too, would buy one if I had the money for it.

My neighbor, who is a mid-60's female is quite accurate with the XDM, and not-so-accurate with several different revolvers, my Sig P232 or my Ruger SR9C. The XDM seemed to make her into a marksman. That's how good it is! :)

K, speaking of the Ruger. It was a nice little gun. You're gonna have ot let me shoot it sometime! Thanks for letting me borrow it ;)

The SR9C is a compact version, the grip is bobbed down to allow a 10 round mag, but it comes with a larger 17 round mag with a grip extender which extends it to a full size grip (not just a pinky extension).

My XD/XDM's kick more than my 1911's.

Kind of like shooting a compact 1911.

My Norinco 1911's are the cheapest ones i have got and they have less recoil than the more expensive 1911's.

A real pleasure to shoot.

That's because the 1911's have an all metal body. Poly guns have less overall weight to absorb recoil, and the weight that the poly guns actually do have is all in the slide, which emphasizes the lack of weight in the body and adds to the muzzle flip.

You're happy with the Norinco 1911's? I have been considering picking one up, but not sure.

9mm XDM 3.8. No malfunctions or problems to report. Really like that pistol.

13 rounds using the small mag
19 rounds with full size and mag collar

So far so good and especially at the price of $350.00 you can't beat it c/w factory chrome lined barrel, very hard steel. Mine all came with a full length guide rod too.

At that price you can afford to customize the gun if you feel the need.
