Wow, that's some picture. I just found out today, my Aunt's ex husband, great guy, was displaced by this fire. It was a forced evacuation. We haven't heard the status of his home. We are saying prayers for him.

It was because of a youtube video posted the day the fire started, some young girls commenting about the fire, but not a cloud in the sky, so not from lightning. I don't know much else about it.

I was kidding when I posted the video of the guy who's tap water is flamable but seriously - if there's that much fracking going on in the state, it could be that natural gas is seeping from the ground and I'm sure it wouldn't take much to ignite it. If natural gas is showing up in the tap water, it could easily surface in a stream or creek.

good! at least we know all pertinent information will be destroyed or covered up.....this is unlike any "wild"fire we have ever seen..the burn patterns are totally inconsistent with wild, wind driven fires... i wish this could be investigated by reputable people instead of these damn gov agencies.

I live a couple hours north of CO Springs, and I have to tell you, the week that this fire got out of control we had record breaking heat, it was dry as a bone, and very, very windy. The conditions were perfect for an out of control blaze. Thankfully the fire is now 70% contained.
