A little missed detail causes a full terminal evacuation at NYC’s JFK airport

Lining up for and passing through security is the most time consuming and tedious part of the airport experience.
Doing it once makes most grumble and groan. Can you imagine having to do it twice?
That’s exactly what hundreds of people had to do at New York City’s John F. Kennedy International Airport on Saturday.
Why?
Because a Transport Security Administration (TSA) screener overlooked a tiny detail. While screening passengers at the U.S.’s busiest airport, he failed to notice that his metal detector was not plugged in.
Whoops!
A TSA official eventually noticed, resulting in a complete evacuation of the international terminal and forcing two jumbo jets to return to the gates as well.
The slip-up was spotted at 9:44 a.m. at which point the Port Authority carried out the evacuation. The terminal didn’t open again until 11:45 a.m. delaying a number of flights and angering numerous passengers who took to social networks to voice their frustrations.
Myke Mansberger tweeted: "Chaos+confusion as 'every person' evacuated at #JFK Airport T7 #NYC. TSA seems frantic+confused. I'm nervous+annoyed."
In a statement, the TSA said the machine had experienced a “malfunction,” with no additional details of the incident.
looks like the agent was experiencing a "malfunction" as well...
seriously, a trained monkey could do the TSA's job better...
