With the passage of ObamCare and the FORCED theft through taxation the people will face, is this the last straw? Could it be the one thing that was needed to wake up the average person? Or, maybe it was enough to motivate the tireless minority who KNOW what the next move is......

May i please have the opinions of my fellow countrymen in this great time of peril?

Do not think so, will it piss people off..Yes. But I am thinking more will like it than hate it. There are a majority of the people that are pissed at the government but still trust and think things will work out. And the joke will be on them.

Plus!

Most people below my socioeconomic group don't know anything about it, and have been/are receiving government assistance.
Most people in my socioeconomic group think it's a great idea.
Most people above my socioeconomic group don't care because it does not effect them.

The only people who care are people who see it as more than a health care issue. How many of them do you know, outside of GSUS?

Great line!

I don't think people are waking up at all, many people, especially young people, think it's just great, that health care should be free and all we've been waiting for is the law to be passed to make it free. Too many people simply can't see past that, that everything comes with a price, whether you pay for it with FRNs or not.

With the more or less deciding vote coming from Roberts, I hope this wakes up some blind fox news republicans that just because someone is "conservative" doesnt mean they are a protector of the constitution and dedicated to restoring the republic like so many of them like to think and pride themselves on

they probably wont see through the LR paradigm though

I know people (outside of my GSUS brethren and sistren) who think this is a travesty, and others who support this decision. In a positive sense, this will juice both sides, which is much better than both sides sleeping.

Ha ha, I just bet my dad $100 that Romney will not repeal Obamacare, if he wins the presidency. I was on the phone earlier with him and he was telling me that Romney is our only chance. AAAAAAHHHHH!!!! http://www.thegamingtailgate.com/forums/images/smilies/smiley-bangheadonwall-yellow.gif

Per my discussion in the "On Romney" thread, do you feel there is a potential learning experience for your dad if Romney were to win and fail? Could it potentially be one more key step toward his ultimate enlightenment? Cuz that's what I'm talking about. Otherwise, he'll probably attribute continuing failure to Obama and the democrats. Mistakingly.

P.T. Barnum wasnt a showman He was a Prophet.

I told people all the time If you want to know how good Obama care will be ask. Ask a Vet how good the medical care is when he goes to the VA.

People are under the assumption the Medical care they get at the ER today will be the same under Obama Care. If you think its bad now Just wait Till the Gubbermint takes over .

The quality of service is going to crater and with it being National Healthcare there will be NOBODY to sue.

You will see the day come when it take DAYS to get a basic appointment and it will only be 5-9 minute visit tops. you will spend more time filling out paperwork then being seen or treated

My Foolish advice: Get lots of Books of Homepathic care as people flock to it in droves and Gubbermint will make a move to outlaw it.

Fun times ahead

I voted no. This is a historic moment though. IMO, from here on out they'll be issuing "buy this or pay the tax" directives. Once people are sufficiently crippled by taxes or whatever they're forced to suffer, they'll be ready to REALLY do something about it. I just hope folks will be ABLE to do something about it when they're ready.

I have thought this myself TT. What I wonder is if we will still be able to see a private doctor with our own money. If this is the case, I would simply not participate in their fraud.

i would like to see Romney set up a legally binding contract whereby, if he does not overturn Obamacare in the first month of his pResidency, he forfeits 1/2 of his personal wealth to a foundation set up to pay the individual mandate on behalf of American citizens.

of course, IF he is serious, he would have no trouble signing such a contract, right ?

not holding my breath.

If he was serious he would have never implemented the "Individual Mandate(along with multiple pages of crap on the Massachusetts tax return)' to begin with.

I think the only people really who pay attention to government income redistribution policies are those who consider themselves 'the producers' and consider everybody else to be panhandlers to some degree. And they think the panhandlers are in control of the government (because there are so many of them, and this is a 'democracy').

I have a friend who is fairly well off who tells me he would be happy if he lived in Sweden, because the government takes care of everybody there. Isn't that what plantation owners did for their slaves?

I don't see it as an economic issue. I see it as an issue of freedom. Most people prefer slavery because it's so 'secure'. And they don't want to take responsibility for their own lives.

Never. They will never get it. When our economy visibly crumbles, dollar crashes, etc. they will blame it on something else. They just don't get it.

I see things pretty simplistically now. The govt is under the federal reserve's thumb. They must keep creating new ways to increase their debt to the Federal reserve to keep things going. They are under strong influences and this will never stop until we End the Fed. The sad thing is that sheeple really believe that the reason for socialized medicine is because our govt cares about people and their health so it's an easy thing for them to sell to our society. I see it as sinister, as do most of you here who understand what's really going on. In fact, they want the nation to be sicker so they can be even more dependent on the govt run health system - thus we have vaccines, GMO's, HFCS, growth hormones and antibiotics, and endless medications for every ailment created by our unhealthy foods. They want this.

The best thing to do is to opt out as much as possible of any dependency on this system. Live a holistic lifestyle as much as possible.
