BullionDirect offers good prices on their sovereign 1oz culls. The weight and finesse remains 1troz / 0,999 and the current ask on SAEs is very competitive. I would advise putting in bids so the next time there is a fluctuation, one can purchase at a given price as nervous sellers 'bump the bid'.

Tulving prices include free shipping. Pretty hard to beat but have minimums.

Not advisable if one is trying to avoid the IRS' radar. If you want to buy a large quantity of silver quickly in a dip, large hedged dealers like Tulving are sometimes the only option.

For smaller amounts, what I usually purchase, I've had a very good experience with Apmex. Fast shipping, got exactly what I ordered, they've gained my trust over the past few years.

Also, my local guy is top notch too. It's good to establish a relationship with a local guy for if/when you need to sell.

Valid point, though that raises the question - how large is 'large', and does the economy realised justify such a large order being made known? It would seem that the larger the order, the greater the incentive to keep it off the radar, and being penny wise and pound foolish can often backfire.

Check out this website:
http://www.comparesilverprices.com/

It compares all the major dealers, and shows the different things you can buy. Tulving is always the cheapest, but that's since it's all bulk. I can't afford Tulving, so I usually go with ProvidentMetals.com. They are very slow, but the cheapest I've seen overall for the amount I spend.

Took a slight detour and bought a few Cougars. Think I might get a few Moose also.

Another vote for Monarch, if you don't have a B&M. Monarch's shipping is very quick and discreet, and there's a sale going on right now too.

What do you mean by "discreet" ?

I meant there's nothing that hints to what's inside the packaging, and there's no follow up catalog that shows everyone who handles your mail what your interests are.

EDIT- From their site's FAQ

Q: How will my package be marked on the outside?

A: All of our orders are packaged discreetly. There will be no indication of contents on the outside of the package and the return address will simply be labeled "MPM" along with our PO Box number. Please Note: The exception to this rule is for orders sent to APO/FPO addresses which require a customs form to be affixed to the outside of the package which lists a description of the contents and value.

Good info, thanks.
MPM is quite discreet.
I will try to buy from them before their sale is over.

Go and buy it from a local dealer, cash, who don't ask for your name, even if you pay one or three dollars above the best rate you can get, you have a good connection, that may be invaluable later, plus there is no trace of your transaction...
