There have been a lot of people walking around my life the last couple days saying "happy 4th" and things like that.

I have had only 1 answer to anybody asking me anything about this "holiday".

"What are you doing Wed?"

"Quiet Meditation."

"Do you have plans for the fourth?"

"Quiet Meditation."

A few people have kind of stoically nodded to this after I said it, like they kind of realized...."shit...that is just what we should be doing on the 4th."

It is often best to keep such things to one's self, at least offline. I decided not to stay in today not least on account of the horrid weather, but also because the townspeople have horrible taste and will likely be festooning their tacky red, white, and blue clothing...as if my resolve to leave this dump has not been rejuvenated enough....

I am not made of stone. I took my girlfriend out to eat at a restaurant around sundown.

During the day, I rested, then typed several posts here, then did yoga asanas, 30 minutes of sun salutations, 30 min of forwardbend & hip openers, 30 min of meditation. Others might be able to do more but this was powerful to me, today.

I guess this is a weird thing to plan for a so called 'holiday' but it is nice to just have a day go by without external demands on me.
