1910

The Boy Scouts of America was incorporated
February 8, 1910
Under the laws of the District of Columbia

Contrast this with the Girl Scouts.

The organization's original name was the Girl Guides of America. In 1913, it was changed to the Girl Scouts of the United States and the organization was incorporated in 1915.

The name was finally changed to the Girl Scouts of the United States of America in 1947, and was given a congressional charter on March 16, 1950.

It seems both boys and girls can involve themselves with commercial enterprise when associated with the United States while the gals seem to have needed a congressional charter to associate themselves with the United States of America.
